Given the moral bankruptcy of the so-called leaders in the country, the current cleptocracy (as opposed to a democracy) and the un-likelihood of any improvement in the lives of the common people ARE YOU READY TO THROW IN THE TOWEL FOR THE DR..OR DO YOU THINK DOMINICANOS WILL WORK IT OUT SOMEHOW? Why? Why not? |

Why? Why not? many are waiting for the next administration to see if change will come. If change does not come I think we will all see more burning tires on the streets |

Why? Why not? I know for sure, we are going to take a lot of pains in order to achieve our commitments. If we are not able to solve our problems by now, time will be forcing us to learn how to fix them. Hard Times need Hard Solutions. Is there a price to pay for, just to be or because of being us ? well ... Though we are making some improvements !!! And yes, we will succeed. Edited on 12/1/2009 2:25 PM by tschotschua. Things have not gotten better, only worse. It seems the entire world is inching ahead. Even Nicaragua, whose only ten years ago was just emerging form a bloody civil war, seems to be making greater progress than we are. I don't know what the solution is; but I am fairly sure that whatever is it we are doing now is not going to "do the trick" so to speak. I am about running out of patience. I want to believe; but I have not given anything to believe in. |

These things require populist leadership. Our UASD use to be a factroy for producing leaders,; however, I think the last one it produced was Hatuey, who isnt much of a leader. Someone has to be willing to enter the arena. Before Hipolito's admin, Guido seemed to a leader in the making, but somehow lost his shine and we are back to zero!! |

So at the end of the day, the question still remains: Do we keep the faith or do we throw in the towel? We all love Quisqueya and we all want to realize Duarte's dream; but the reality is we don't have much left to fight for. |
