Motorcycle Riding in the Dominican Republic
After over 30,000 miles riding real motorcycles in about every corner of this beautiful riders paradise, partner Ed and I have written what may be the definitive guide to the do's, don'ts and beauty of riding safely in the Dominican Republic.

The article too long in .pdf to post, so if you'd like a copy emailed to you go here:

What brand bike are you riding? Besides Tu-pops One tiny piston, loud no muffler types?

I can't imagine riding down there, I've seen potholes that would swallow a car.

We ride 2008 Suzuki V-Strom DL650's, a near-perfect big bike for the roads.

Click the link to get a copy of Two Wheels in Paradise emailed to you. All your questions about how we mitigate the risks of riding motorcycles in the DR to almost ~zero~ is there.

Doesn't sound like fun motorcycling to me. Follow the leader chicken run is more fun. The fastest bike sets out on dirt roads and all others follow. If a corner is too tight roll up into a ball and project yourself to the nearest soft ground.
Still stupid Americans will pay a fat fee to ride a motorcycle that they are not allowed to ride by themselves.
The Puerto Rico club comes over once a year and they have fun. A big tent, barrels of rum, rides into incredible terrain, it amazes me that stupid people still try and hype this failed business venture. Anyone with any sense would join one of the PR club trips and hire a motor cycle when they get here.
You need a real dirt bike - not a souped up roadster.
DR attracts all sorts of rip off merchants!

Certainly opinions vary . Just as there are all sorts of motorcycles, there are all sorts of riders.

The PR guys are a fun group. I think Luis is top notch.

Lot's of folks from all over the world like what we do. Some trip reports with pictures from some serious adventure riders:
