Moscoso Segarra mute on Felix Bautista District Attorney Alejandro Moscoso Segarra is refusing to comment about a claim by economist Felix Calvo that the director of the Public Works Supervisory Office of the Presidency, Felix Bautista is the government official who appears most prominently in the videos showing people in the company of drug trafficker Jose David Figueroa Agosto. Felix Calvo said that Hotoniel Bonilla of the Department for the Persecution of Administrative Corruption (DPCA) has the videos, as reported in Hoy. Bautista is the PLD candidate for senator for the province of San Juan de la Maguana. If elected in May, he will enjoy legal impunity and could only be tried by the Supreme Court of Justice. Bautista was also mentioned in the controversial Sun Land financing case. The government has yet to explain how and where the US$130 million in funds in that case were used. On Tuesday, Moscoso Segarra interviewed Niurka Altagracia Gomez Hildalgo, widow of murdered Omar Ramon Antigua Polanco. Antigua Polanco was a fugitive from justice who was being sought for his links with fugitive drug baron Jose David Figueroa Agosto. Antigua is yet another of Figueroa’s key aides who has been murdered. Press reports say the justification is that they know of information that could lead to accomplices in government and military circles. So far, as a result of the months-long investigation into the case the authorities have only arrested people said to be fronts for the drug traffickers. Explanations on how the drug network operated freely for around 10 years have not yet been forthcoming. On February 10, El Dia reported that in 2001 the National Drug Control Department released Jose Figueroa Agosto, who used the name of Felipe Rodriguez de la Rosa, despite knowing that he had coordinated drug shipments for Wilfredo Andujar Guzman (El Amarillo) who was extradited in 2002. Figueroa Agosto went on to take on a fake identity, Cristian Almonte, to continue his operations. |

Now, for this novela to have a real good finale the goverment officials ( like the one above) with links to figueroa will need to be executed in front of tv cameras! I will gladly be part of the firing squad! |
