No American should have to learn Spanish for a bunch of lazy people. I don't care what situation they come from, all immigrant groups before them have been able to assimilate or at least learn the language, but they refuse to and expect Americans to give them handouts for their lazyness.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. The largest ethnic group in the US is Germans and never in US history were bilingual programs for Germans needed, they knew how to assimilate. How would you feel if Dominicans in the DR were forced to learn Kreyol?

En mi caso particular, el saber los dos idiomas me ha abierto oportunidades laborales y de negocios en el vecino de sur (Tijuana), especialmente ahora que el desempleo esta alto en EEUU, muchos son los que quisieran tener acceso a las maquiladoras del Norte de México.
