According to a special Law, passed a few hours ago;
Leonel declared an official Holiday, countrywide from Saturday until Monday Noon
that shall "enable" everybody to vote on Sunday.
Why anybody needs a day off the day before and a half day after wards, who knows ?
This is just another part of his dirty campaign to get more votes for his party.
There are enough dummies out there that will thank Leonel for this additional vacation
by making the cross at the right (more true wrong) spot.
How to run a company in such a fucked up country is a completely different question.
No wonder every major company stays away from the DR. Who can afford to shut down his company for 2 days without any prior warning ?

Here is a good Thread, and a good response. These fools have nothing to say - just vote down a good post. They do not even bother to respond to the Thread or posts! They should be banned for sabatoge!

People need time to travel, to calmly deliberate on theri vote and actually vote - sometimes there are queues.

DR people work to much anyway. In France a 35 hour/4 day week is typical in many companies and organisations. Because there is unemployment more public holidays are needed.

Now Patriica is being stupid. Almost anything you mention in the DR there are too many people working and not effectively, wasting their lives.

Four of many examples:

Moto-conchos - these guys seem to work 12 hour days, most of the time waiting, some time wasting fuel driving round looking for a passenger and a small proportion actually transporting a passenger.

Someone said there was one million of them - possibly an exageration - but a huge number anyway.

Most scrape by with the excessive hours.

If hours of each driver were limited they would have more time with their families, for sports, eductation, becomoing hip-hop artists whatever. The service to the customers would remain the same.

Ever seen six men digging a trench with picks and shovels working long days when a cheaply hired machine would be more effective?

Insurance offices could easily shut on mondays for all the businss they do on that day.

Thailand has one mobile network providing cheap and efficient service ditto China. People waste their lives providing 3 o 4 networks working unnecessary long hours and ripping off the general population
