I love that show... " Heroes is the shiznit. Sopranos was cool for a while but for me it tried potraying Italian-Americans as scarier then they actually are. It just became too unbeleivable after a while. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill |

I said this is the general mentality of Americans, both White and Black.. I didn't say it was my mentality..Most of my foreign friends tell me I'm not even American in my thinking because I'm not as narrow minded and stupid as most. LOL.. Now I could get offended at the marks against Americans.. I hear all the time how lazy Americans and this and that.. But surely in the back of mind they don't mean ALL Americans.. because then that would include me and I don't fall into the lazy category.. You should know by now Americans have issues with people who don't do things like we do.. Yet, we're a divided people.. Any White American will make a point to point out that a fellow American is Black and vice versa.. There are racist Blacks and Whites..There is no common music that unifies us that says "American".. you got White music and Black music and both parties may like either side of the border.. We don't share common food.. The south cooks one way and the north cooks another way.. Our English is not even the same.. You have 5 regions of the country speaking different dialects of American English.. (West, South, North, East and Midwest)..Then it's gets divided into White English and Black English.. the list can go on and on.. We'll eventually get with the program, hopefully.. By the way, am I the only non-Latin American descendant American on this forum or what? _____________________________ Made in the USA |

If you've been to NYC these days you should have already listened or be acquainted to some of their songs by now, seeing as how they rule on the dominican community over there. Anthony is the one standing up in the middle. lol, I only posted that pic so that JabaoHaitian can have a point of reference when I tell him my personal experiences here in the USA in regards to color/race/ethnicity. |

Aventura has some okay songs, I actually like a broad range of bachata artist, but the ones that really go crazy are the other LatinAmerican groups, especially the women. |

Amoree I didn't say you did not grasp it..oops went back and read my post..i guess i did...I read some of your post with Lautaro and see that you have a good insight on things...I personally feel that african americans have paved the wave for all immigrants to even having these opportunities that they enjoy without thinking of the people that fought hard and sat on the back of the bus. I consider myself a citizen of the world like Dread and travelling has made me see things different and have alot tolerance. I only see one race and it's the human race...God bless you all........BTW, the painting is a haitian artist that resides in the DR...that painted the make up of the DR... So it's not limited to just Americans. I have received the same response from Cubans. I have showed family pictures to many Cubans and the first thing out of their mouth is "Oh they don't look Dominican". My response to them is "sorry but we don't walk around with signs stating "the type of Dominicans we are" i.e white black mulatto Chinese Indian Arabic etc. Why wont Dminincan Republic prosper? Because Dominicans are just plain to Stupid |

I tell them I grew up speaking Spanish because my father is Dominican. Then they ask Thats in PR right? I knew you were PR b/c your skin look reddish black and your hair real "good" and wavy.lol and don't let that same person see me talking with my Jamaican mother. I prefer the term west indian in my case when it comes to what culture i am because AA don't get easy offended as to if i say im hispanic because then i would be denying i'm "black". |
