I think a movie like that would find success only withing the DR and maybe the Dominican diaspora. Maybe a fictional story set within this setting, have any of you read "the brief wondrous life of oscar wao", personally i think that would make a great film that could appeal to many audiences. |

Otherwise a lot of non-Latinos and non-geeks will lose interest. |

They are making a big budget film of that comic, and I loved how Junot Diaz skilfully used a parallel ending for 'Wao', a great nod to the best comic EVARR. |

It was highly entertaining, although I was sometimes shocked and disturbed by Rorschach's uncompromising brutality. Compared with him, Wolverine is a hopeless boy scout. I've been collecting comics since that picture was taken that accompanies my profile. Still do. What's your favorite company? Marvel? DC? Dark Horse? Although I was a Marvel fanboy growing up, these days I have to say the best stuff comes from VERTIGO, the DC 'adult' imprint. We're way off topic now but are there any Dominican or Haitian combic book artists out there I may have missed? |
