First of all I don't know why we continue to call McCain a Hero. He did his job just as anyone in the military is expected. The same way I was expected to do mine.

Hero def:
a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.

What brave deeds can he be accredited with? Did he charge a hill and single offhandedly fight the enemy? If a police officer is shot while trying to stop a crook, is he a hero? Please lets get a life.

Americans always looking for a hero in every corner to validate their significance in the world, so to the point that they have wore out the word Hero. Everyone now is a hero. GET REAL!

Now I don't discount his bravery and courage for enduring the years of torture and abuse. I commend him for his bravery and for his dedication to cause. But he is no hero! He did what just was expected. The job he signed up to do.
