And the one I find the most ridiculous one, even more ridiculous than calling the whole US "Nueva Yol":

Los Paises, when referring to the United States.

Its crazy when I arrive in DR some people ask... y cuando llegaste de nueva yoi?.... I don't even try to expain it anymore... I tell them a million times that nueva yoi is only a state, an area of the US...lol

I think they should have the school children learn the 50 states
I get hat all the time.....even when they know I only live in 2-3 months out of the year in NY.

Now, if school children should learn the 50 times, then many Dominicans living in the US should educate themselves and not think the whole country's name is not Santo Domingo.

"Manana me voy pa' Santo Domingo"......
oh, que chevere, en que parte de Santo Domingo vives,
"En San Jose de las Matas".

JAJAJAJAJAJAJA.

I don't know sh*t about cars, all I know is that "yipeta" is the name for that car with the slide-able door that typical soccer moms drive.

Santo Domingo is just an unoficial name for the Dominican Republic, and it's much cooler to say "santo domingo", than "la republica dominicana". "Republica Dominicana" sounds like some communist country in the middle east
