Carlos Franco, why do you not confine yourself to making the intelligent comments you sometimes make, instead of wandering off the track at times? i think that your statement, that DR's future began when Balaguer died , is one of the brilliant insights i have seen in a long time. what the heck is wrong with you?

Dominican history since independence has been ruled by caudillos, Santana, Lily, Trujillo and others. Balaguer was the last amongs them... The fucker die a prince. A guilty man who no judge would dare touch... With his passing DR has ended that legacy of caudillos. If you can't recognize that Dread... I must ask What the hell is wrong with you???

We have tried Ladronazo. Juan Bosch, had he succeeded and the Americans not intervened, DR would have had a democracy since the 60's it would be 50 years old by now... point is because we didn't get Juan Bosch we are just getting over Balaguer. DR's future began when Balaguer died.

Yes we have tried, But they they may have been mediocre attempts at least. And in addition times are very different today than they were 10-20-30 years ago. There exist opportunities never before present. We are at point where opportunity should coalesce with preparation. Our prevailing problem is conformity and education. and I agree we had a tremendous opportunity when Balaguere died. But there stil exist an opportunity.

New parties will rise out of the ashes of the PRSC and PRD. Young, smart and energetic... It may be a couple of years before one could actually rise and challenge the PLD at the ballots. I don't think any dominican will accept anything less than the PLD, we learned that with Hipolito.

I have very little faith in any new party evolving from the splintered remnants of the PRSC and PRD or PLD. I cannot be more emphatic in my disgust and lack of trust and confidence in anyone whose politics originated in any party with the venerable politics and policies of the past. I strongly believe that the solution is a new organization that will target the social consciousness of society, eventually morphing into a political entity consisting of new young energetic and intelligent leadership.

So, you don't like what's happening in DR....

RE: Ready for change, are you?
Carlos, you opined that dominicans will not accept anything less than the PLD, given the debacle of the PRD and Hipolito. how do you think they are going to configure their thinking now, in the light of all the corruption and ineptitude of the PLD? in reality, these guys are beginning to make Hippo look like a small time crook. nothing is working any better than in the days of Hippo. why is it that every common man i meet in the street is crying the blues? every day, we see glowing reports about the "expansion" of the economy, this investment, that new project, etc. yet, nobody has a job, and people are scrounging for food. yet each ministry has a dozen deputy ministers. the embassy and consulate in the USA is grossly overstaffed with high paid, useless hacks. do you think that the day will finally arrive when folks will finally decide that neither party is worth its weight in mierda?
