RE: Obama's impact...
Arsenio, here's the way i see things as they stand. McCain is not a young pup, and has had health problems in the past. should the guy croak, then the governance of the great republic will be left in the hands of a WOMAN, one with even less experience than Obama. i think this choice is questionable. there has got to be some rationale behind it, but it escapes me. i know Romney's wealth is a problem, and the other guys have baggage, but this is way out in left field. can you imagine Biden filleting her in the debates? i mean, she is not a powerful woman like Hilary, so i just do not get this one!

RE: Obama's impact...
Hey dread I agree with everything you said, but my fear is that all the "Billy Bobs" and "Sue Anns" from Hicksville, USA end up doing what they did in the last election (which is one of the main reasons Bush won a 2nd time) and decide that they rather have an inexperienced white woman over a black man (or half black in this case). Let me tell you that I am actually quite nervous about the upcoming elections; if McCain wins, we are only going to have another Bush and we're going to be dug even deeper into the hole that we are already in.

Jem237:

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I live down south---
I pass by cars sporting the Confederate flag constantly as I manuever around my area; And, I gather from all this "southern heritage white thang", that Americans will accept a woman in the "White House", a lot quicker than they will a brother, son of a Kenyan and a Caucasian Woman, from Hawaii (by the way, the've both passed away) .
The south has a saying: "The South gon' rise again". I'm afraid that goal will be slightly impeded if Obama wins. Good old boys south of the Mason-Dixon line 'aint going for it'. I don't see it happening now, or any time soon!

I think this is a non issue. He lost ground during the convention rather than get the expected bounce.

I just wonder how big he will lose by in about 2 months.

But the iffffff part is interesting. I think he won't be doing well for the economy in the US and he will send it into a tailspin. When the toilet flushes in the US crap goes down the drain here.

Uh....you say he'll send it into a tailspin. So... how is are economy today?

i agree with you on the racial component, JEM. but i am looking at the people who actually made Obama a phenomenon; the kids. they are energised. they are fired up. they outnumber the racist hags, but , traditionally, they do not vote. this time , they are doing all the work. they are doing the internet mailings, raising the small donations, pounding the pavement. the stadium was filled with them. this election, they are not going to sit home and play X BOX and nintendo. they have seen what the current administration has wrought upon their families, and they do not want it happening to them. so, while the inbreds from west virginia vote for the white guy, the young kids will be voting their interests. heck, even miami will be close; a lot of those newly eligible voters are going to break ranks with the anti castro mafia and vote for a change!

http://www.electoral-vote.com/

You will all hear a lot from the media about who is ahead in nationwide popularity on any given day, but remember this is not a popular vote election. Remember the media has an interest in making this seem closer than it may actually be. CNN and FOX want to be ESPN, flashing meaningless bits of information they claim move the polls 5 points this way, 3 points that...but all essentially meaningless before the electoral vote count. That is what you should be watching.

McCain's VP selection reeks of desperation.

"Of the hundreds of governors, senators, congressmen, and business leaders available to you, do you really think that a 44-year old person who has two years' experience as governor of a thinly populated state is the best person in the country to be President of the United States after yourself?" Someone PLEASE explain to me why McCain would undo his single best callenge against Obama; inexperience.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

he is trying to grab the disgruntled Hillaries. a major gamble. if Bill Clinton can rise above pettiness, and actually do some campaigning for Obama, that will have been the worst gambit ever. once again, manhattanite, you are a voice of reason. the news outlets have to make things interesting. so , CNN and Fox get these pollsters to make things fluid , so people will watch them with bated breath, instead of Seinfeld re-runs. don't believe the hype. Johnny Mc is going down!

Nice kicks!

I've seen it suggested on the forum that congressional Dems are more problematic for DR than Republicans. That may or may not be true, but from where I stand Obama is better for me and most Americans so Barry's got my vote.

That was me. I say that a victory by Obama might be problematic for the DR in the sense that the Congressional Black Caucus blames every disaster that has ever befallen Haiti on us. I personally don't hold anything against Obama, it's his group that I'm wary about, because they have shown time and again that they hate our guts with a passion, so they might influence Obama's foreign policy regarding us in that direction. Until they do something on the contrary, I'd still consider them (the Congressional Black Caucus) as "personas non gratas" in my book, thank you very much.

She has Executive experience. Much more than Obama who has only been a Jr. U.S. Senator and a State legislator.
The only experience she might lack is in Foreign Policy but even that is debatable because as Governor she hasheaded Foreign trade missions.

As for you Woman remark....quite sexists of you! I wonder if you would have said that about Hillary? Who BTW has less Executive Experience than Palin.
