well, anthony, there are people who would not like to see irreparable rifts between any groups of people. you, i know, would like to array the whole world against black people. thank God , you are ineffectual in that respect. should you not be off somewhere polishing the briefcase of some of the rich guys whose asses you kiss with such alacrity and aplomb?

Nothing wrong with ties to any group but why do you think that "Hispanics"(a silly term that means nothing) should form up with African Americans?

anthonyc, firm alliances and irreparable rifts are antipodal, antithetical positions. there are nuances in the middle, somewhere. it is not monochromatic, as you think. sit quietly, drink a cold glass of juice, and ponder this carefully. it is only as hard to understand as you choose to make it.

agreed upon by whom, anthonyc? would you care to adumbrate the issues of the carter presidency which were peculiarly carterian? everyone trashes jimmy carter because of the state of the economy when he left office. i would like their opinion on the american economy today. guys like you love it , because more and more people are losing their jobs and being impoverished. makes for more people like yourself to exploit. you and i will never see eye to eye on anything. firstly, i am assured in my mind that you and others on this forum , deep inside, do not believe that a black should be president. but i cannot change that, and, sadly, we will dance around in circles while you try to sophisticate your racism. i have got to find a different place to express my ideas. this is a cesspool here.

This is very true. Part of the reason why I have retreated. Individuals like GC who really have nothing to contribute except tidbits snippets and repetitive quotes. I'm at the point where I dont even bother reading his entries.

GC and AC make a pair of clowns who really don’t represent the Dominican, Hispanic or Latin American perspective. Individuals who find it offensive and demeaning to be called Hispanic, Somehow “they” feel they are better than the rest of Hispanics. But if they only knew what others really say and think about them. Even Anglos have some really nasty things to say about Cubans like them.

i agree, i hate when i see dominicans/hispanics try to deny their herritage and suck up to the anglos. while the anglos turn around talk much shit about hispanics. Why not support an African American as president? Most Anglo-Americans think we are blacks anyways.

Exactly, but i think you would agree, this is not the only reason i support Obama, it is mearly a small part of the equation. It is his policies, his thoughfulness, his ability to articulate and understand complex issues and his positive attitude that have drawn me in.

RDin ME, there are several posters in this forum who want to see mccain win, for different reasons. not the least of which is the fact that obama is black. so we have posters calling him " uppity". ever heard of an uppity white man? of course not . uppity is a term reserved for black people who have achieved something positive. you see, white people will tell you that you should make something of yourself, or you are just a bum. then, when you make something of yourself, they say you are uppity, and do not know your place. what's a guy to do?

WOW. All that from a public education? Must have took you 1/2 an hour to come up with that one.

Actually you are wrong. Middle of the road gets nothing done and yes sometimes politics are black and white.

I will take my original question a little further. How have the Dominican's in the US helped themselves by hitching up to the Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rangle wagon train?
