Dreads I would have to disagree with you to a certain extent. I have met many Anglos(US) that though ignorant of the Dominican Culture and its people are from very humbling beginnings and have demonstrated unbiased sentiments free of prejudice toward people of color. Now I too cant place a real number but it I would say that from my experiences perhaps 1/3 or slightly less of the Anglo population could be classified as lacking racial prejudice by conscious choice . The rest 2/3 would fit in the other category either by ignorance or a voluntary choice to feel so or elevate their superiority. Now unlike others on this site who are ideologues failing to see and accept the many real and different dimensions of racism and “REALITY” I do believe that every man is the architect of his destiny, with the exception that some because of the color of their skin have been given a full and better set of tools. A white man will never feel the real blade of racism and while a man who is mixed as myself will only feel parts of that blade, a black man will always feel the entire blade. Her canned responses were a real eye awakener, of what we can expect if they win. Another four years this time it will be "the Honey mooners" and not the three stooges. You could see her apprehension and lack of real understanding of the "world" at hand. I'm not criticing her answer for the "Bush Doctrine" question, just her inability to provide real and genuine (not canned) answers to the questions. Her constant strain when enunciating her words was a pure indication of her inability to understand what is happening in the world. Anyone could see her inexperience through her thin veil of confidence. Just compare her initial speech with the demeanor last night. Edited on 9/12/2008 12:58 PM by ladronaso. What interview did you see? BTW during her Speech Governor Palin's Teleprompter malfunctioned and she had to Ad-Lib. She did a much better job at expressing herself than Obama has been able twithout a prompter. The man is lost. Edited on 9/12/2008 9:01 PM by anthonyC. |
