RE: Will the Republicans steal this election as well?
GC is like a moving target. he fires off one inaccuracy, and , when corrected, fires off another. first he says freddie mac was a democratic invention, then ,when he realises it was done under Nixon, he then offers us that Clinton ruined it. Clinton was a decade ago, and the crash came after 8 years of Bush. talk about disingenuous! it is one thing to support a cause, but a little honesty never hurt, GC. if Clinton's philosophies were so wrong, how did he manage to preside over record employment, budget surpluses, and peaceful times? i suppose you are going to tell us that the common man is better off today than he was under Clinton?

If the Times is a rag then be sure that whatever the Post is lays far beneath it One of my pains in life is seeing allegedly literate people reading NY Post/Daily News. I suppose disdain for tabloids makes me an elitist

Quote:

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

This seems like a wholly reasonable position, especially given that the President isn't looking to withdraw at any rate. It's a moot and academic point to bring up.

RE: Will the Republicans steal this election as well?
texasshoe, thank you for your article, which makes interesting reading. however, allow me the opportunity to dispel any myths which have been created by the Minister of Misinformation and Half Truths, GC. firstly, he makes out that i am some rabid Obama supporter, when it was i who received a lashing from him for characterising the aforementioned Obama an opportunist and a bum for throwing Jeremiah Wright under the bus. you see, GC has a well recognised disdain for the truth, and cleverly uses misrepresentations to make his point. i was furious at Obama over the Wright incident, because i think the man was not saying anything that was not true. i have never held out Obama to be the solution to anything. he is no less an opportunist than McCain, a man of absolutely no character, or Sarah Palin, an unabashed liar and self promoter. mccain will soon discover that he has bedded down witha porcupine..star power and all. let me say this once and for all; to me, the outcome of the election in the USA does not affect the price of cheese in Macedonia. if americans are so fatuous that they will allow for 4 more years of decline, then so be it. if they are so scared of the negro being in charge, let them vote for the two clowns who represent the republican party. only an unrepentant nincompoop can believe that sarah palin is presidential material. in any other developed nation, she would be a laughing stock. all of Europe is once again scratching their heads at the inability of americans to rise above race and protect their own interest. if americans do not care about their own welfare, why should i? i say give them not four, but 8 years of mccain, then 8 yeras of palin. they deserve it!

yumnuk, do not forget the 9.6 TRILLION national debt. All occasioned by the fiscal conservatives, no less. 1% of the population of the USA holds 24% of the wealth. but johnny mac wants to give them more. americans mystify me. they wave the flag , wear lapel pins, and make themselves totally obnoxious at international sporting events, getting into everybody's faces , Yelling USA! USA! USA! but nobody wants to sacrifice for the country, unless they are forced to , such as military service. they all want good schools, good fire departments, good roads, good police departments, but they do not want to pay for anything. tell them that taxes have to be raised by 10 dollars per month, and they fly into paroxysms of rage. why can't someone else pay for all the crap that i want, they ask?
