Please help me understand, is this forum (not site) about the DR or is it about Haiti, Obama or anything that happens in the US and/or around the world?.

I ask because the main topics here are those not related to the Dominican Republic.

I guess just about everybody is targetting the "off-topic stuff".

And that's a shame since there's so much stuff happening in the DR, good and bad.

That is as specific as you can get.
Yet, most people don't follow that instruction and go ahead and talk about, Obama, Haiti, The NY
Stock Exchange, etc. What I believe they should do is use those other sections within this forum for that.

Still, the topics that dominate this forum are as you point out, about anything except what relates to the DR, its people, their life-styles, and their struggles. You're positively, and absolutely right! I believe the reason for this separation from DR topics has to do with the large percentage of participants that aren't natives; Many are sons and daughters (born abroad) of "criollos" (second and third generation) nacidos en la tierra Patria; Many others are half-DR, and half-another nationality; Others may be (extranjeros) Dominican sympathizers who love our nation and our people; And lastly many are just Dominican haters of all stripes, colors and nationalities. When you mix all these in you get what Mayor Dinkins of New York City would call a Mosaic. Well, that Mosaic leans slightly away from our culture and values, to put it mildly. But, it's all good. To' se vale!

Cap Cana is a great place for mostly tourist golfers and by the way Donald Trump is building a resort there among other areas in DR like Cabarete and Pueto Plata. Cap Cana went under what?

Yes, let's keep this more Dominican. I started the first forum regarding Haiti but then the flood gates open to forums disrespecting DR and talking nonsense about other things.

I can give you some Haitian websites and see if they will care as to whether or not you post anything about DR. That is the thing right here, Dominicans act like there aren't any legal Haitians living in DR who are constituents and are very much entitled to be on any sites that is Dominican related since they live in DR. That is like me telling a Dominican living in New York in the United States that he or she cannot go on a websites that is about New York or called New York Today and talk about Boston, New Jersey or hell even Dominican Republic. Anyways, this will not end this constant battle between the two people Haitians and Dominicans because old resentments have devoured your brains and placed inherited hatred in there instead.
