I am part Dominican you idiot... and just because I am part Dominican I do not have to accept the racist concept in mind most Dominicans have towards Haitians which I am also part of. So talk and ramble all you want you putz. Now I know why you sound like you have a chip on your shoulders, you know, having the worse of both worlds. Most Dominicans don't want to be associated with Hatians and most Haitian don't want to be associated with Dominicans. Boy, I would hate to be around on those family reunions, esos Haitianos y Dominicanos tirandose hasta las batatas!. TuPapaupa, please don't use this as a blanket statement because not all Dominicanos and Haitianos feel the way you stated in that post. There are those who are secure enough in themselves to actually get along. Show me where I said all Dominicanos and Haitianos don't want to be associated with each other?. I said 'most', which is different than 'all'. Entiendes?. If you don't, let me know and I'll put it easier for you. MOST DOMINICANS LIVING IN THE DR DISLIKE HAITIANS, BIG TIME, AND ALL DOMINICANS KNOW THIS!. Okay TuPapaupa, God bless. You have a good heart and I know you understand in any event animosity is never the answer. luv ya, God told you?. How do you know there's a God?. Ummmmm. The verdit has been out for a long time, most Dominicans dislike Haitians with a passion. And they don't give a shit if they have money or not, most feel they are inferior to them. Don't believe me, call a dark Dominican in the DR "Haitiano" and watch him curse you out as if you had killed him mom or something. Even that Haitiano (or part Haitiano) AfroLatino, knows this. Okay TuPapaupa, whatever you say. God bless! Dios le bendiga! |

I didn't say you were lying but that doesn't mean I feel that I should start hating or not talking or befriending Dominicanos in the DR as well as in the states or anywhere else. Its cool mijo. No complex here. So for those that do hate they need to really look at the human being first and not treat them as anything less. In regards to your original point as to why there aren't as many threads of topics/subjects about DR, I agree, especially on this section of the forum. Its the first of the headlines. And I will actually say, that in forming that topic "Obama's Impact" and trying to tie it to the DR was pretty weak and led to many off-topic tangents. This is a culture-specific website and that should be respected above all things. Some people who have posted here, including myself, are quite lucky that there isn't very much censorship (deleting posts) in regards to keeping it DR-related in all posts, and (don't think it hasn't happened on other sites either). TuPapaupa one thing you can do to keep a good DR topic up on the headlines is by bumping which is (continually commenting to keep the thread on top) or reminding people what this website is truly about like you've done here very well. I respect your purpose on this topic Tp. F.Y.I.- The only "chips" I have are the ones in plastic bags on top of my fridge in my kitchen. If the site's owner (or moderator) doesn't say something to them, because he/she needs the traffic, there's nothing ol' little me can do as I am a "small fish in a big pond". Even those who agree with what I am saying are not doing their part (as far as starting Dominican-related topics). All I can do is do my part by not commenting on those non-Dominican-related threads. But keep hope alive lets not be afraid to take a topic that not concerning DR and try to re-route to Dominicanos. We gotta keep it real, many people around the world have yet to know and truly understand this country and it if we keep it relevant to DR, that won't be such a problem. So bump when you can, and redirect with confidence. And I think I'll join you on trying to stay away from those off-topic, irrelevant-tagent-forming, threads. Edited on 10/8/2008 6:21 PM by talia.
