Eriliza, I really would like to know who's the idiot that keeps voting down your posts on this thread.

What a LOSER.

Man, do some people need a life or what?.....

I see that too. Like seriously, why would someone ever do that??

And yes, what a LOSER!

It must be a system glitch, I just recently attempted to voted up 1 but there was no change.
If not that then it must be some envidioso that does not feel good about himself and takes it out on others. There is no possible reason why anyone would give her a negative vote. Eriliza no se mete con nadie.................

Perhaps her stalker, tiger, registered under a different name and is voting down her posts.

RE: Our tradition, our Drinks
Back on the topic of drinks, when I was a kid my mom always made a drink called Morisoñando (not sure if I spelled that right). It was basically lime juice with a ton of sugar and milk. I was wondering if this was intended to be an alcoholic drink and if anyone knows this to be a Dominican drink.

From my understanding, morirsoñando is orange juice, sugar, milk and crushed ice.

Yes, I left out the crushed ice, but I grew up it was always lime juice. Anyways is it intended to include alcohol, like rum? Also, it is Dominican?

I've never seen it drunk by another group..it's typically made with sweetened condensed milk instead of just regular milk and sugar in the Dominican restuarants up here. BTW my mom swears that lime juice is the correct juice to use but one is hard pressed to find that version of the drink in most places.

Interesting. I think I'm going to add rum on my own and see how it turns out. Thanks!

You can use any kind of citrus to make Morisoñando (Sweet or Bitter Orange, Lemon or Grapefruit) it doesn't matter, about alcohol in it I never seen it, but I know people that use Vinegar instead of citrus

Sometimes crushed ice is not needed.

You can try it using orange and vanilla ice cream or yogurt and maybe some fresh cream. You can even add a raw egg if you are training and turn it into an orange egg nog and may some rum for a little kick.

It is thicker and richer and maybe you can sell it to the American Market as "Orange Dreams." Kind of has a more positive ring then morir soñando. Does anybody know the origin of this drink? And who the hell came up with that name anyway? Di' que "morir Soñando" We Domincans are something else..

I think I read a post in another thread that said Dominicans love to use Superlative expressions. It is possible that "morir Soñando" must be just another characteristic of our cultural personality.
