State of gathering systems (pipelines) in Gulf of Mexico from hurricanes Gustav and Ike one must take into consideration they are almost all Natrual Gas systems very few are crude only. Gulf of Mexico Pipeline Status ANR Pipeline Co. Sept. 30, 2008 ANR’s ANR’s Southeast Area operation conditions are improving resulting in additional points and services being cleared to flow gas. All points upstream of Grand Chenier compressor station are available to flow gas. The Cameron Meadows lateral segment remains shut-in. Inspections continue on both offshore and onshore facilities. Chandeleur Pipeline Co. Sept. 30, 2008 Operationally Scheduled Volumes indicates pipeline is flowing at almost 85% of pre-hurricane levels. Columbia Gulf Transmission Sept. 30, 2008 Flow from offshore points has been reduced to approximately 60% of normal operating capacity. Destin Pipeline Co. Sept. 18, 2008 Pascagoula processing plant force majeure declared Sept. 15 now lifted and flows will resume to normal. Discovery Gas Transmission Sept. 26, 2008 Updated customers on time frame of schedule to repair 30" mainline that could take up to 60+ days - Damage to offshore system that will prevent the receipt of all offshore gas. The damage has occurred on the 18†ST 200 lateral, which has been torn away from the 30†mainline at ST 231. Onshore delivery & receipt points will continue to accept flow. Enbridge (UTOS) Sept. 25, 2008 All UTOS facilities remain under Force Majeure and are currently down and all points are shut-in. Crews are currently at the UTOS Station 44 clearing mud and debris and are assessing the damage. There is no time frame for restoration of service at this time. Garden Banks Gas Pipeline Sept. 25, 2008 Garden Banks' pipeline facilities are essentially ready for return to service; however, the pipeline remains shut-in because there is no current availability of downstream outlets for condensate, which includes interconnects with ANR, Tennessee, Transco, and Sea Robin all of which are unavailable. High Island Offshore System Sept. 29, 2008 Force Majeure from Sept 10 remains in effect - 42-inch diameter line on system has been severed and HIOS has the repair tools & pipe available to replace the damage section. A dive vessel expected to be onsite in 5 days. 3 points along a lateral not impacted can flow gas but all other offshore points remain shut-in. Two delivery points are now available -- ANR & Tennessee. Kinder Morgan (Texas & Tejas) Sept. 20, 2008 All firm storage customers can resume injections at 100% of their firm injection rights. There is no interruptible space available at this time. Manta Ray Offshore Gathering Sept. 24, 2008 Force Majeure is lifted as of Sept 24. Gas flow is available for delivery to Nautilus Pipeline but all other delivery points (ANR, Transco, & Trunkline) remain unavailable at this time. Only portion of receipts offshore can flow gas at this time. Mississippi Canyon Pipeline Sept. 30, 2008 Force Majeure lifted -- flow commenced on Sept 29 at reduced levels. Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America Sept. 24, 2008 Power has been restored to Compressor Station 343 and the leaks discovered on the LA line have been repaired and is now in service. Force Majeure still in effect for Station 342. Nautilus Pipeline Co. Sept. 29, 2008 Force Majeure has been lifted as of Sept 24. All receipt points are now available to flow gas to the following delivery points: Louisiana Intrastate Gas, Gulf South, Cypress, and Acadian. Sabine Pipe Line (Henry Hub) Sept. 22, 2008 Force Majeure has been lifted for some additional points along the system. Henry Hub continues to operate on partial compression and the pipeline is closely monitoring its system Sea Robin Pipeline Co. Sept. 30, 2008 Sea Robin lifted the Operational Flow Order issued on August 30 for 25 receipt points on its system as a result of completion of the inspections. Southern Natural Gas Co. Sept. 24, 2008 Southern has issued its final update. Six receipt points remain shut-in totaling 62 MMcf/d. The restart of these points is dependent on third parties repairing damage and it is unknown when these points will return. Stingray Pipeline Co. Oct. 1, 2008 Force Majeure remains in effect and all receipt points remain shut-in. Assessments have been completed for all onshore facilities. Stingray estimates it will take 4-8 weeks to complete repairs to its onshore facilities including the separation facility. Tennessee Gas Pipeline Sept. 29, 2008 Declared Force Majeure on Sept 29 for damage to subsea portion of line (500 line). All points on line are at zero until further notice from TGP. Texas Eastern Transmission Sept. 29, 2008 TE estimates that producers have shut-in 400-500 MMcf/d of supply on its system. Damage assessments continue on facilities impacted by Gustav and Ike. Receipt points along the Cameron System and South Pass line remain at zero flow. Several compressor stations continue to run on backup generators as commercial power is unavailable. Texas Gas Transmission Sept. 17, 2008 All systems on the pipeline are operational, but they are closely monitoring receipt points. Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Sept. 23, 2008 Further inspections are needed for the Southeast LA lateral resulting in shut-in gas flow from multiple points along this segment. Pipeline estimates that 575 MMcf/d remains shut-in due to Ike. Trunkline Gas Pipeline Sept. 24, 2008 The Kaplan Compressor Station has one unit now available to flow gas raising the capacity to the Henry Hub. 30 receipt points have been cleared for flow. Venice Gathering System Sept. 30, 2008 Venice Processing plant has informed pipeline that the plant’s Force Majeure has been lifted; however, plant start up is not expected until Monday, Sept 29. The Force Majeure will stay in effect, but will be lifted on a point by point basis. A limited volume of gas flow commenced Sept 29 and is expected to increase as points become available on the system. Dauphin Island Gathering Sept. 16, 2008 Force majeure lifted as Mobile Bay (Duke) processing plant completed maintenance. System will resume normal operations. Black Marlin Pipeline Sept. 15, 2008 Force majeure declared Sept. 12. No gas flow being accepted. Gulf South Pipeline Sept. 18, 2008 Critical period has been lifted as of gas day Sept. 18. Northern Natural Sept. 22, 2008 Matagorda Offshore Pipeline System accepting gas flow at normal levels. Edited on 10/2/2008 11:03 AM by texasshoe. Texasshoe From Houston |

People living in trailer parks after foreclosure don't burn much gas. With luck some of these fat cat gas corporations will go bust and leave their rubbish on the sea bed and elsewhere to rust. Then with reduced GHG , pollution, global warming will reduce, less people Worldwide will suffer from flooding etc. kids won't grow up with chronic asthma puffing at inhalers...... S. |

Natural gas is the cleanist buring fuel around and releases the least amount of GHG's of all fossil fuels around. Dude, what planet are you on?? Stauts on production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico as a result of Gustav and Ike; MMS Cites Failures to Report, 58.8% of Gulf Production Still Shut-In Minerals Management Service Wednesday, October 01, 2008 There were failures to report by some operators on September 29 and September 30, 2008. Steps have been taken to ensure full compliance with the prescribed deadlines in the future. Since the statistics are based on the operators' reports, both the evacuation and shut-in production figures provided for September 29 and September 30 are inaccurate. Due to the nature of the calculations, the statistics from those two days will not be recalculated. Related Products A Generalized Approach to Primary Hydrocarbon Recovery Production Optimization Using NODAL Analysis Based on data from offshore operator reports submitted as of 11:30 a.m. CDT today, personnel are evacuated from a total of 123 production platforms, equivalent to 17.2 % of the 694 manned platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Personnel from 1 rig are evacuated; this is equivalent to 0.9% of the 116 rigs currently operating in the Gulf. From the operators' reports, it is estimated that approximately 58.8% of the oil production in the Gulf is shut-in. As of June 2008, estimated oil production from the Gulf of Mexico is 1.3 million barrels of oil per day. It is also estimated that approximately 47.7% of the natural gas production in the Gulf is shut-in. As of June 2008, estimated natural gas production from the Gulf of Mexico was 7.0 billion cubic feet of gas per day. Since that time, gas production from the Independence Hub facility has increased and current gas production from the Gulf is estimated at 7.4 billion cubic feet of gas per day. Read this: http://www.grida.no/climate/ipcc_tar/wg1/index.htm natural gas is the term used in the UK for the stuff that comes out of the ground. The network of US gas pipes is here: http://www.naturalgas.org/index.asp Burning any carbon based fuel - methane CH3, ethane C2H5, coal etc. releases the GHG C02. Our consumer will use these products directly or indirctly for energy. e.g. procssed natural gas for furnace, cooking etc. converted to propane, butane for cooking etc. used in power stations for electricity generation. CO2 is released by procesing and transport etc. and at time of combustion. Our friend living in the trailer park now doing a ten dollar an hour job may have had his 3000 sq ft MacMansion foreclosed - his power bill may have been 5000 dollars year or ten hours work a week now. He now uses a 3 gallons of gas ( propane ) a week for cooking / heating. Cost 10 dollars or so. Plus a few watts of electricity or maybe invested in a solar panel. Less GHG! Better planet! Less asthma! http://healthandenergy.com/asthma_&_global_warming.htm Some people are lucky enought to have logic - others not. S. |

In Response to the global warming outcry from ABC that would have us all move back into caves; "Some people are lucky enought to have logic - others not." you are correct on the point, however posession of the virture is a different story. A great majority of people in the world do not believe wholeheartedly what the press and Al gore say regarding the issue. As for your report on Asthma- Well it said "They believe, could result in, indicators point to" Hardly can be classified as fact. They did state that indoor humidity increases could be possibily linked to an increase in cases. I live in Houston Texas one of the most humid places on the planet and cases of asthma here are no worse than anywhere else, go figure. http://globalwarming.org/gw101 Highlights from the above link; "At the 2008 annual meeting of Nobel Prize winners in Lindau, Germany, half the laureates on the climate change panel disputed the so-called consensus on global warming. You have probably heard the dire warnings many times. Carbon dioxide (CO2) from mankind’s use of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas is building up in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas—it traps heat that would otherwise escape into outer space. Al Gore warns that global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions could increase sea levels by 20 feet, spin up deadly hurricanes. It could even plunge Europe into an ice age. Science does not support these and other scary predictions, which Gore and his allies repeatedly tout as a “scientific consensus.” Global warming is real and carbon dioxide emissions are contributing to it, but it is not a crisis. Global warming in the 21 st century is likely to be modest, and the net impacts may well be beneficial in some places. Even in the worst case, humanity will be much better off in 2100 than it is today.
