Punta Cana wedding scam July 2007 Onwards
Hi all,

Just wanted to post this asking anyone who has been married in Puna Cana from July 2007 - Feb 2008 and hast got their marriage certificate to contact me.

I was 'married' at the Seriens Cocotal on 26.07.2007.

Please see the below links to prove its true.  I have just found out that the person who 'married' us was not a judge and therefore our marriage is not legal.  I booked through Thomas Cook and went though the whole process of validating my documents only to find out the hotels wedding co-ordinator has been in on the whole thing too!!

It could effect up to 200 British / Canadian couples, so please contact me if you think you could have been effected and hopefully we can lobby the embassy together.  Thomas Cook are aware of this scam, but have not notified any of the couples involved.

I am devastated and want to set up some form of support group for those of us effected.  Please read the below new reports:

Thanks,  Simone
