I recently came back from our beautiful country but I was saddened to see the state of disrepair this highway is in. With all the money being spent by the government on new constructions projects, why is this highway neglected? The placards marking the names and emblems of the different American countries are missing letters, broken, and sometimes completely missing. Seeing as this is the highway that leads to the airport and thousands of tourist and regular Dominican citizens drive through it every year I would think the government would do everything it can to ensure it stays in tip-top shape. Hopefully when I return next year it will be in better condition. I must say though that I was pleased with the great condition of the autopista Duarte between Bonao and Santo Domingo. |

There are now abundant places filled with very deep potholes, which makes driving in that road very dangerous, specially at night. They don't fail to collect the tolls, but that's about it. Like always, it's going to stay this way untill someone dies while avoiding a swimming-pool size pothole at 80-100 Km/h. DaniDR Living in the Paradise |

The roads are terrible all over but, until the Hurricane and rainy season is over they probabaly won't do anything. The poor quality cold mix they use will never get a chance to set up properly unless they block traffic for a few hours. |
