I can show you homes in the DR where they proudly have Photos of Balaguer side by side with Trujillo.

When in the DR my favorite phrase when somebody does something stupid(Which happens a lot) is; "Too bad Trujillo isn't comming back"
Most people find it funny and many nod their heads in agreement.

About Caamaño being a bad military strategist.
He fought off 42 thousand American soldiers; he basically fought the 82nd Air division with 5,000 military and most of them actually civilian personal.

The 82nd had superior weapons but they still could not win with out murdering people.
He trained in Cuba and I know that is what gets you mad that a lot of Dominicans that fought against Trujillo and Balaguer trained in Cuba.

We know the truth and the truth is that Caamaño has an Avenue named after him a statue and a Metro station to say the least. We know that he already had it good; being the son of one of Trujillo’s most decorated Generals. He fought and gave everything, EVERYTHING for DR. He stood against a much larger force and never thought of giving up.

He may have been a national hero.......but, Im glad he didnt make us communists cos we wouldnt be driving BMW's Range Rovers and the likes, ive been to Cuba and people are dirt poor, theres shortages for the most basic products, I was shocked when I learnt that you could get "anything" in exchange for simple stuff like ladies underwear (no I dont have any so no takin the mickey) It just illustrated the difficulty the Cuban people are going through with the US blockade. That would have been us had Caamano come to power. Even Russia is a capitalist state now.
