First of all, it presented all Dominico-Haitian problems as stemming from the Trujillo regime totally failing to mention the true roots of Anti-Haitian sentiment in the Dominican population, namely the invasions massacres that occured in the early 19th century. Secondly, the report works from the premise the the Dominican state should actually be responsible for these people (illegal Haitians). Nonsense, Thirdly, it mentions the fact that Haitians are represented in the construction industry, going so far as to say that "Haitans have helped fuel the construction and other indiustries" or something to that effect but making no mention of how the native born Dominican workforce has been totally underminded by the presence of the illegal Haitians. Also, It's a good thing that Perez Pared was replaced. He made an awfully dismal case for the international community concerning Dominican deportations of illegals. They do not care for the bests interests of our motherland. This video is actually some wonderful news of the fact that finally and i mean finally Dominicans are waking up and smelling the coffee. Anybody from any other country without good papers should be deported too. Why don't they do this now? S. |

Well Cib, with all of the things that you have witnessed many Haitians that come on here say (which is very similar to what was said in this report) we can't really be surprised that this is one-sided and only focusing on Trujillo. Whats funny is those same Haitians that are focused solely on Trujillo, say we are living in the past. What is the past then??? History is the biggest indicator of today's affairs. This woman is not dumb, she knows she should research a matter before making false accusations, but instead all she does is badmouth us, purposely! The only thing that is surprising is the apathy among the people like us who have the chance to be proactive, but instead decide to cross our arms and do nothing about it. We need to understand and we are at war, a silent war with the mercenary Ngos working for Haitians. Once I'll get home I'll be posting a very disturbing information on anti-Dominicanism! there is even a web site dedicated to specifically defame us and boycotting our national products and economy!!!!! I know this woman. She once visited my home in Manhattan and we shared some thoughts. She's married or was married to a Dominican and I believe had one or two children. Her name is Maria Hinojosa, and she's been in the news industry for many years now. She's worked for CNN, PBS, and has a weekly show among other responsibilities. My friend Lucas is always telling me how much he dislikes her commentaries and liberal views, multicultural perspective on matters. Try writing her and giving your take on matters. I too find the starting point, Trujillo years, too limiting when considering the problems at hand. As always, a balanced historical prospective is needed in matters, especially one so charged with historical significance. Edited on 4/13/2011 9:10 PM by Atabey. I'll try to post few of the writings for they are many in that Domincan Defamationb website. Dominican men and women should not put up with this assault to our community, I don't. Here we go......... "Dominican Watchdog – the goal was simple; to work for greater transparency and better consumer rights for foreigners living or investing on the Dominican Republic... However, this is not always as easy as “Freedom of Speech” or “Consumer Rights” do not mix well with investigations and reports on fraud and corruption on the Dominican Republic." "Why you should not visit visit or invest in the Dominican Republic! invest in the Dominican Republic! This forum is set up to show the backside of investing in, or traveling to, the Dominican Republic. Too many other websites is over promoting DR with misleading advertising and promises! Holidays in Hell - Dominican Dating Scams - Dominican Real Estate Fraud - Treats & Corruption Theft & Robberies - Food poisoning, HIV and AIDS in the DR - Dominican Timeshare Scams" "DOMINICAN WATCHDOG We collect and publish large amounts of objective data and local research about the Dominican Republic to better guide and protect foreign citizens and small investors against misleading advertising, weak consumer rights, corruption problems and fraudulent business operations often promising nonexistent warranties and guaranties. We also work closely with the European Commission and local EU governments on corruption and development aid issues in regards to the Dominican Republic."
