Hey tampoco asi because en un barrio called Villa Juana they just innaugurated a cultural community/Center/Elementary public school that rivals any private school in the country. El Mauricio Baez which I think I had mentioned before my cousins who live in that barrio are soo happy because they wont have to come to my house to use our computer anymore. Look it up Club Mauricio Baez which now is also an elementary public school en el barrio de Villa Juana. |

"well", one replied, "is that not english they are speaking?" that , my friend, takes the cake. so, if Eriliza can prattle on about Hugo Boss and Versace in the midst of such realities, and not deserve to be raked over the coals, then i am really just a miserable old curmudgeon who misses the point. schoolchildren in madagascar know that haiti is a french/creole speaking country. i would not expect a dominican not to know that. |

That's the consequence of the "money is the only thing that matters" mentality pervading the dominican landscape nowadays. Many people just drop out of school for the chance of earning money earlier in life, not knowing that there are things that even money can't buy, such as class and caution. It's an embarrassment for me to say this, but that situation of yours is a show that numbers can't lie, and those numbers put us with the highest rate of school drop-outs on the Western Hemisphere. Well, if they have a complaint, they have to go and put it to the UN and all its associated institutions, cuz' they were the ones to come up with all the hemispherical numbers, and they are not precisely known for lying over these delicate and sensitive matters. Well I guess, I don't know how you do not die on the spot when more than 95% of the american people cannot tell what language you are speaking when two hispanics are chatting in Spanish. That is a very different case than confounding kreyol ayisyen with jamaican english, which is not that different from standard english while kreyol ayisyen is VASTLY different from standard french, by the way. The Haitian Creole is 75% French with the additions of words that are re-written in Creole yet are still French derivatives in both meanings and adoptable expressionism. Example: The Creole word "Kòman." See how the Creole Kòman is still the French Comment and Spanish Como all three mean How. Thus all three are Latin derivatives in origin.
