Quote: S1CAR1O previously said: ive been reading this thread and its a little anoyying how every time some1 posts a picture or some new building up, there come waves of people saying how none of this is good, how it was all drug money used 2 build these things, how it does nothing for the average dominican, how it was all for foreign investors and only foreigners 2 use... letz skip all the criticism. take the pics for what they are... how about we comment on the architexture involved, if it looks good or not, what are some of the GOOD things these things will do for the surrounding neihborhoods and the economy. as some1 said b4 SOME improvment is better then NONE at all. you see how much foreign investment china is getting from companies all over the world and you cant tell me the average chinese family hasnt improved their quality of life because of it. The point of all of the negetive feed back is that this is not progress. The majority of the people can not afford to eat everyday in DR. Many do not have shoes and can not afford anything. No jobs and too many people. These buildings will only benifit 5 to 10% of the people. You say that china is doing good because of the foregin investment, but China has a real school system. China makes a ton of products, what does DR do??? Why dont we focus on educating the children. Why do I see so many kids begging on the streets??? This is not progress.. Why have a fancy building and have people begging on the street? If having a papa johns on a corner of a street makes you feel proud to be Dominican, than thats you. But I am not going to feel proud when 10 or 20 years later the future generation of Dominicans are dumb as wood. |

The papa johns employees will not afford to eat there. What good is fancy buildings when many are garbage? This is not progress, progress will be when there is 24/7 power, all children have good books and school supplies, and when the poor people get the jobs back from the illegals |
