I will relate to you guys how I first encountered then president Hipoloco Mejía, at Hipolito's Peña tailor shop in ensanche Naco:
I was picking up some linen guayaberas that Hipolito Peña (the tailor) made for me, which at the time (2002) I loved wearing every day; then Hipoloco Mejía and his full entourage came in unannounced and by surprise, to pick up some guayaberas also, and two tailor made suits. The suits didn't fit and where not to his liking, and immediately he offered them to a member of his entourage who was the son of a retired Balaguer general, who was part of Hipoloco's government. The son of the general gladly accepted the surprise gift, and stayed around to be fitted.
Later, I asked Hipolito Peña about the suits, and how much they cost, and he instructed me that one of them was made out of gold thread, and the other one had diamond dust, that made it shine. The material alone for these suits cost in excess of US$10K each. I had not even heard of such expensive materials before, and this mojón, dumb campesino, had the gall to order them, and then give them away like they were popsicles, as a grand gesture. This gives you an idea of who we are dealing with, a presumptuous,
mega corrupt, stupid, inept, loud, boisterous, allantoso, a..hole with a Trujillo complex. The same guy who his preferred bodyguard, coronel Pepe Goico, gave 13 (yes thirteen) gold Rolexes away to military and civilian "friends" including the one that Hipoloco proudly wears in public, bought with the Baninter bank credit card, paid for by the DR taxpayers with every gallon of the gasoline tax that we buy in DR.
To have this moron back in the government in 2012 says a lot about how the voters in DR qualify their candidates, and if another Trujillo clone arose, he will probably be elected also.

Like I said before, it will NOT surprise me is that MOJON wins the Presidency............

The moron is as stupid and obnoxious as they come.............

The thing is that that BURRO actually thinks he is smart.............when in fact a frog is smarter.

RE: Hipolito and his candidacy
With his recent scheme to "help out" the farming community by stating they should break the law and not pay their debts we can all see his policy mind at work. Anything to gain power, and then when in power: anything to help himself and his partners the republic be damned. God help us if this "snake-oil" with a lead-tongue should regain the Presidency. As most of you guys state, and I agree, to trust in the people to make the right choice is not worth the money. Probability of this moron winning are probably 50% Incredible to believe he could have such high chances after the debacle of his first term in office.

As a Dominican I find it embarrasing and shameful that Hipolito Mejia was able to pick himself up from the trash bin of history and dust himself off to become a viable candidate in the eyes of many. This is the kind of crap that happens when education is sorely lacking in a society. Unbelievable. Sad. Pathetic. Upsetting.
Ciba, I though I saw it all when "Balaguer, Balaguer, munequito de papel" was able to buy people's votes by giving them a "fundita" and some "regalo de Reyes" before the election........

To think a BURRO like BozoHippo is actually a favorite to win the Presidency again, is MIND BOGGLING!.

I am telling you, if that mierda wins, I WILL NOT visit the DR as often as I do...........

If he wins, READ MY LIPS:

THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WILL BE THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

What an embarrassment!.

"I though I saw it all when "Balaguer, Balaguer, munequito de papel" was able to buy people's votes"

True Papa and you have a point but please we are talking two totally different IQ's when comparing these two individuals. Balaguer was a very intellegent man not saying that he goverened wisely by any means because we all know the story.

I didn't compare their intelligence since I know Balaguer had more smarts in ONE finger than the BURRO have in his whole cuerpo ingrato.

actually, Atabey, i agree with your findings here..sensible people should think twice about voting for someone who openly advocates renegade behavior. in these troubled economic times, developing nations have very fragile economies, which are often propped up by loans. how does this moron believe that we can approach a lending institution for a loan, when it is on record that he advocates unilateral default?
