I follow some web sites and have yet to discover any opposition leader that would make sense for either the Venez or DR peoples. Otherwise Chevez would have lost elections and support a long time ago. US domination of Venez has left a legacy of lethargy among the people and US multinational interests have used this to their advantage. This has been the pattern in South America. But even talking via internet to upper and middle class Brazilians who at first opposed everything that Lula's party stood for now have come round to the opinion that social democratic policies are best. So if Chevez is able to provide continuity to a more social democratic government surely one must wish him well. S. I believe this is a sensible opinion that if it reaches fruition may prove workable. After all is not the greatest country in the world the good old USA also a social democracy and it has thus far comparatively speaking worked quite well... don't you think? Many people think that US is a military industrial quasi dictatorship these days, Given the huge resources at its disposal it has been characterized by wanton waste and disregard for the plight/welfare of other peoples in its spheres of influence. Still thanks for the regard that I have a sensible opinion. S. S. |
