The island of La Hispaniola is DOOMED
We are facing a dilemma based on ignorance, neglect, disregard and dismissiveness. Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. Unfortunately, due to poor leadership, that means us. We need to stop blaming politicians for their corrupt behavior and accept the responsibility for putting them in power.

Here's your leadership. Just look because the writing is on the wall.

Yes, indeed. We have a very demented set of personalities wanting the leadership positions in our otherwise ill fated island. but sadly this is just Par for the Course for both sides. Hopefully, the lesser of the two possibilities for DR, the PLD, will retain its position. It is the better choice. Hippo-loco will take us down faster than the PLD.

With respect to the illegals, put the UN mission troops on the border They can't possibly be as derelict as the ones now supposedly protecting the border

the change that we want for DR is not going to come from within. Those of us who see the country fail and do nothing about it, are as bad or worse than those promoting corrupt politicians into office. DR can longer be saved by putting a bandage, it needs a complete 180 degrees turn in direction. whats worth growing the economy if decades after decades we still have 50% poverty rate and no end in sight .

Those who cannot read are obstructed from contribution in a society , without access to the information necessary to make an intelligent decision.

Unfortunately, the massive wave of unknowledgeable voters are coming to a poll near you on 20 May 2012. We must educate are young adults on the consequences of being unknowledgeable come election time.

I have never in my entire life had these feelings before, I just hope we will never have to see the winds of change swallow the seeds of grain our founding forefathers cultivated.

Couldn't agree with you more. We are worse than the corrupt politicians, and we only have ourselves to blame, we sit around and do nothing while politicians ruin the country and then blame the others.

Just reading what you say, your words expressed in almost poetic language, brings a chill down my spine. Gives me a spooky feeling as if a premonition of a tragic upcoming event.........is about to become true.......................to reality............
