Most of the individuals that are responding to this thread doesn't even live in the Dominican Republic. I will not comment on any of the the post, because it is sad to see the lack of understanding from some individuals.

I did not ask for any personal information nor did I ask for any one to post their DD214 online !! I will like to know how many veterans we have in the Dominican Republic, so we can have our own Legion Post that is being sponsored by the Florida's Legion Post. That is all ! So, if you are not a veteran or an active Military individual please don't make a fool of yourself by trying to explain history or posting negative comments.

THIS IS ONLY FOR US MILITARY VETERANS THAT ARE LIVING IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC OR WILL BE RELOCATING TO THE DR !!!!!! THANK YOU

PS. ONCE WE HAVE 10 MEMBERS, THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHERE WE WILL MEET, ALL THE DETAILS AND REPRESENTATIVE FROM FLORIDA WILL BE HERE TO GET US GOING WITH OUR POST.

Not as many as those who served. Extrapolating those who have meet the requirement how many would really be interested in participating? even fewer. I'm glad you brought this up, it wasn't the reason that I originally gave my opinion: *This may surprise you, but, there have been (muchisimos) that have served in active warfare. Starting with World War 2; and possibly before, then DR's were categorized as PR, or Cubans. But, since Korea, Vietnam, Contra wars, Panama, Desert Storm, Balkans, Iraqui Freedom; Thousands of Dominican have honorably served and many died. Don't think that we all arrive on U.S. soil in 1989!
