Guill is really waiting for the the A350 xwb http://www.airbus.com/aircraftfamilies/passengeraircraft/a350xwbfamily/ This aircraft promises to be very efficient and in proposed long range versions travel London to Sydney in a single hop. It will deliver a significant reduction in airline operation costs. This should benefit tourism in locations such as the DR. There is little doubt that most things built in Russia have problems being marketed because of the dreadful history of safety and of spare parts ..eg their planes, their tanks in libya . and now the Chinese have a similar problem trying to export their rail expertise . However , on another point that abc raised, I have numerous friends in Thailand who say that the Russians are in very big numbers now in the holiday resorts there .but especially Pattaya and Chonburi and Rayon ..and are making huge investments . |

There is much potential for Russian investment in the DR. Air links are growing all the time with flights from as far away as Siberia. S.
