One group would be upset that a So-Called, unbiased media outlet would stoop so low for their political agenda. And another group who would take the opportunity to express their jealous, bigotry against Cubans even though it has nothing to do with the topic. You of all people should be grateful when anyone posts in your so obviously politically biased threads. Historically, Cubans received preferential and partial treatment by the US immigration authorities, and continue receiving them to this day, much unlike their other latin american fellow travelers. The first Cubans that migrated to Florida, rightfully running from political and economic persecution in Cuba, but more so because they where in bed with Fulgencio Batista's autocratic regime, and were in fact "Batistianos", permeated the political philosophies of future Cuban political power in Florida and then nationally, by endorsing the farthest from the right republican political movements, and believers in the medieval ways of exploiting workers, gross corruption and intolerant autocracies, that were prevalent of Cuba in the 1950's, that carried on with their baggage in arrival to the US shores. AnthonyC you and the rest of the Cuban mafia, are political dinosaurs thankfully in via of extinction. The problem is that you AnthonyC are Cuban and because you are Cuban your pride blinds you from the reality that is re-iterated here by many poster. But as many have said, Cubans are loosing ground. Marco Rubio despite of Obamas lackluster appeal with other Hispanic groups will find very little support from them with his disapproval of dream act. His untested support of WetFoot DryFoot and the US immigration lottery alloted to Cuba is in itself a blatan slap in the face to the majority of Hispanic groups. Which is consistently denounced by most Hispanics. A pretty little cubanito hijo de mami y papi who opposes any bill that smells to him of liniency towards illegal immigrants will not garnish many Hispanic supporters. Truth be told Cuban powerhouse is wanning and Rubio is racing to attempt to change it but he is a generation too late. Reality is he is catering to the "Old" and quickly dieing Cuban guard who's only concern is the US Position on Cuba. Not immigration, not abortion, not seperation of church and state. No other issue is at the table other than "Cuba". Rubio doesnt represent Hispanics in Florida or the entire Cuban Community. He represent a small but powerfull segment of the Cuban community, which like everything else.... will die. Edited on 10/12/2011 7:09 PM by ladronaso. Why wont Dominican Republic prosper?
