Feuding with Atabey
some time back, the forum was treated to a disgraceful display of mutual discourtesy between Atabey, and me, and i apologised to the readership for my part in dragging down the level of the discourse to the abyss in which it ended. i vowed that i would not allow for that to happen again, since the readership expected better from me. Atabey went on a short hiatus, then came right back with the attacks, which i thought had ceased. i was animated to send him a personal message, which i will post for the readership to see

i see that despite the fact that i have attempted to be civil to you, you have plans to reinstitute the hostilities. why am i not surprised?

Atabey´s response was one of surprise.¨.what do you mean?¨, he replies. i must be imagining things, said he.

well, the reason why i open this thread is because, as all can see, the hostilities HAVE been reinstituted, and the casual observer can see why. this is just a preemptive strike, so that when this matter deteriorates further, we will not have the usual claims by Atabey that he was suing for peace, and i was the one throwing fuel upon the fire.

Isn't this something you guys have to work out trough personal messages? I do appriciate the apology and admitting you were both wrong, but the responsabilty of getting back to a decent conversational level is up to you guys
The result of a discussion should not be winning, but progress.

I Agree HollandLovesDR. But the Dready loves attention.

The problem is largely due to Dread's difficulty in accepting that he is wrong on occasions. He loves to be thought of as an authority and when his bobble is burst, he goes all batty.

Just look at the thread on US110 Billion in Infrastructure and you'll see how he tries to no avail to get out of preposterous positions: from agreeing with the "Genetic basis" for Dominican low productivity, later changed by the author-and the use of Taino is very telling of the degree to which the original understanding of the thought is to be taken Dready only saw " Cultural attributes" - to Dread's take on Baseball being a "child's play," and thus not a demanding sport like Soccer. When presented with verifiable evidence to the contrary, a panel of Sports EXPERTS Dread still continues to argue with anecdotal claims unfit for an elementary grade student. When his short-comings are plainly demonstrated for all to bear witness, he goes batty.

And to add insult to injury Dutch is that these two individuals aren't from DR. Yet, I wonder what their agendas really are by hanging around a venue called Dominican Today Forum?

Regardless of how you feel Dread is one of the most solid posters on here and has been for some time. I've locked horns with him on occasion and yet I still have nothing but respect for the man.

Well, then that's different then. Not from Tamboril, o Janico, o Puñal?

And you were born in La Joya, o en Ni Bajes, or Los Pepines?

Not for nothing, I have some good friends in NYC - WAHI of the Fernandez fam.

You dropped some places and names that I'm verry familiar with, I'm almost convinced; but I still wonder why all the propaganda for Siboney?

RE: Feuding with Atabey
pedigree and family lineage mean nothing on here(there are despicable and honorable people born to all classes and cultures) and the site is not exclusive to dominicans. not all foreigners have an "agenda", some love the country and wish to know more about it. both dread and atabey are valued posters, hope the feud will RIP (one already has the atta-boy award which cannot be trumped )
