Anyone have any idea how I should go about it? What the airfare might go for? What costs I might expect on the other side? Thanks in advance for any responses. It will be interesting to see remnants of the communist party. Unfortunately, as Cuba opens up you will see less and less of the authentic Castro regime we all for years have heard about. But I encourage every one to visit and see another world few people are acquainted with but not as bad as the exiles make it seem. |

I agree with Guillermone, see it in its state of "Socialist Paradise" because it will soon be transformed when the breaded generation is gone. Be sure to check out the Traditional colonial areas like Trinidad and Santiago and don't fall for the agents wanting to package you into endless trips to Varadero Beach and other tourist traps. Don't go into lightly lit areas, especially at night-there are many unreported cases of muggings and especially camera and personal belonging theft in Cuba. A Spanish women in my group was mugged and robbed of both camera and money while in la Habana. Do go to the Hotel Nacional and other places like Old Habana.
