These thugs should all be killed. Enough is enough! if the friggn cops can't do sh*t, then let the people take care of it themselves. And I dont want to hear anything about human rights saying that its pure savagery, because they're not doing squat either!

RE: Delincuentes toman control de la sociedad
Some people are just amoral selfish dumb asses. And there are no programs that can grow/transplant empathy or a conscience, and there is no 100% cure for crime. But there are crimes – drug related crimes, theft and many types of violence that are absolutely preventable and it should be our aim to work as hard as we possibly can to prevent them by cracking heads first and asking questions later. I know it sounds just plain ignorant and stupid, but it's the only option worth considering at this point.

There is absolutely no other alternative but to get tough and take a bite out of crime. like McGruff.

All the politicking in the world has achieved nothing in DR, except get selfish ingrates elected to do nothing offices; So, to remedy this political and societal corruption let's start at the top. The lazy living in the lap of luxury sell-outs have got to go. Then, perhaps some headway can be made into the break down of society, and the prevalence of lawlessness even in the rural towns of the country. People love living in small towns because they can't stand the crime and congestion; yet, now there's no place to go since crime has spread to los pueblo y los campos. No escaping this menace. Time to get tough on crime. Back's against the wall. Run or fight?

Maybe we should start a chapter of the Guardian Angels in the DR. It worked in the US, maybe it can work in the DR. I wonder if they are still around? I have not heard from that group in a long time.

Yeah, I remember them. I'm from the City, Man.

Curtis Sliwa and his adorable wife. Those people really got it together.
I believe he's still around; Politics, maybe? He had a radio show for a spell.

The concept is great, but, the policias and guardias in DR, aren't gonna' go for it.
We sometimes think that the whole world is like it is here. In Quisqueya those paid to enforce law and order must justify their jobs to put food on the table; And if and when some 'civilian posse' attempts to patrol areas, the unifromed services will have a cow. Look at it from that perspective.

I'll admit something has got to be done. But, what that is I can't put the finger on.
How about life sentences for habitual offenders, premaditated murder, and horrendous crimes?
Not just 30 years.

Imagine life on pan y agua en La Victoria? That is a terrible de-motivator for commiting crime. I know they won't go for the death sentence....

Guarucoya, The campos were the best place to be because of the reasons you described above. When I used to go on vacation to Salcedo, We used to sit and even sleep in front of the marquesina, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and vehicles passing by. It was heaven. But Fuck! when i went overthere on 2009, These friggn thugs were trying to break in at night and it was raining. Good thing grandma was semi awake and saw the shadow of some one;s hand through the glass perisana. She yelled out theif! and scare him away. Another day, we had this construction worker come by to fix the zincs on the roof, and his motorcycle broke down, He had to leave it over night or few days in the marquesina.. And Mind you, the marquesina is safeguarded with steel bars and a steel dor with a lock, Can you believe these thugs were able to break the lock (we founded it whole on the floor in the morning) and opened the door without a sound, being a noisy door, and they took the motorcycle out and left it near the rose bushes nearby? I guess they saw that the motorcycle had a missing part which the const,. worker had to buy. They did stole a shirt that was hanging in the marquesina. Ever since that, my parents got scared, and now I cant spend too much time in the marquesina and that kills me!! I dont want to spend my vacations in fear damn it! Now i want to buy a gun! And what's worse, These people with free hand outs will never want to lose their botellas so therefore, they will do the impossible to keep it that way by keeping the thugs in power.

Anything that's not nailed down these tigres will try to steal it. It's a sign of the times.
No hay 'pa donde ir.
I have friends contemplating retiring in the country, and I fear for them; Just like I fear for my family in la Capital and in el campo, too. It's all about money. getting it, showing off, taking it, etc.
I remember when people weren't so 'comparones'.
Do you know un campito called San Jose de Conuco, near Salcedo? A good freind of mine is from there.
I don't know what to say about weapons, I personally don't own one or will ever do so. I believe that God protects His own, no need to take things into your own hands. "Vengance is mine saith the Lord".

Bro, I suggest you get a rotweiller or a doberman pinsher, and let 'em sleep in the marquesina for protection.

The friggn windows had steel bars for cying out loud!. They stole a cubrecama. X(
