Hope you visit the morgue with greiving mothers of the teens who die in the USA each year. I accept that Grand Prix racing is less dangerous than when Jim Clark died. I have visited the Jim Clark Museum in Scotland with the memerobilia etc. http://www.duns.bordernet.co.uk/tourist/attractions/clark.html Airmen used to die with monotinous regularity where I was brought up in the cars they had, grossly overpowered for the roads and tracks at the time. I see nothing wrong with riding the wall of death at the fairground for excitement or scrambling over fields on motorcycles; both I have done. I stopped half way up the wall of death. I was well padded and I think I coud have damaged no-one else. With wisdom I would not do it again. A friend used to race - he had a Lotus. Another a TVR - now this was overpowered. Difficult to handle, but fun in the hands of an older responsible driver. http://www.tvr.co.uk/ So hand Vipers out to 18 year olds for use on publc roads - say they are not overpowered. Volunteer for the ambulance crews. S. I have worked rescue and corners for many autoraces and have seen more than my share of death and injury on and off the track. As for the Vipers.....Personal responsibility. If they can't handle the car it is their problem. TVR's are crap. Lotus on the other hand. I also sail. Windsurfers are for people who rode the short bus to school. Proof of dreadlocks Bigotry. I guess you have shares in hospitals as well. But 'all-in' fighting may produce more hospital clients. Stage a few of these for local youth and the hospital could grow rich! http://www.witold.org/writings/nhb.php S. |

If the 18 year old buys a gun then kills somebody with it isn't he responsible or do you blame the gun? If the 18 year old robs a bank he is charged. or do you blame the Bank? What at 18 his responsibility stops when he gets behind the whell of a car? BTW you can run over a cyclist just as easy with a Honda Civic as with a Viper. Proof of dreadlocks Bigotry. A poll shows 71 percent of Americans approve of Barack Obama picking Hillary Clinton for secretary of state. Seventy-five percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey approve of Obama's Cabinet choices, with 22 percent disapproving. That's 16 points higher than those in favor of then President-elect Bush's Cabinet picks eight years ago. The poll indicates that 71 percent approve of Obama picking Sen. Hillary Clinton for secretary of state. Democrats overwhelmingly approve of the choice, with two-thirds of independents agreeing and Republicans evenly split on the pick. Clinton and Obama were rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination during the very long and bitter primary season, and the two didn't see eye-to-eye on some major international issues. Watch more on the Obama-Clinton alliance » But the poll, conducted Monday and Tuesday, suggests that Americans don't think Clinton will go rogue when she and Obama disagree. "Will Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton try to push their own foreign policy agenda? Americans say no," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director. Don't Miss Obama nominates Richardson for Cabinet Reluctant defense secretary 'impressed' with Obama Obama picks Clinton for secretary of state Obama's inner circle Fifty-seven percent say Clinton will follow Obama's policies rather than her own when she disagrees with the future president, and 54 percent think her husband, former President Clinton, will stay out of U.S. foreign policy. Holland adds that the "favorable ratings for both Clintons have risen dramatically since the election." Americans also seem to like Obama's move to keep Defense Secretary Robert Gates at the Pentagon for at least the next year. Gates was appointed two years ago by President Bush. Eighty-three percent of those polled approve of the move, with just 15 percent disapproving. iReporter Ben Hicks, a self-described liberal who attends the University of Houston, said Obama's choices represent "a good combination of conservative and liberal views." iReport.com: What do you think about Obama's cabinet? "Bush's Cabinet was strictly conservative, and it's proven that too much of anything cannot be a good thing," Hicks, 23, told iReport.com. "Instead of having an abundance of liberals and pretty much angering every conservative in the nation, you can have both." Many of Obama's choices for his Cabinet, his White House staff and other high level positions in his incoming administration are people who have ties to Washington and the Clinton administration. But nearly three-quarters of those questioned think an Obama administration made up of such Washington insiders can bring about change. A similar amount feel that that the Obama Cabinet should be made up mostly of people who have served in the federal government in Washington. And 88 percent feel that an Obama Cabinet made up of former rivals and opponents of the president-elect will be able to work together. "Obama is so popular that 52 percent of Republicans approve of his Cabinet choices," Holland said. iReporter Tracy Crews, a Republican from Jacksonville, Florida, isn't among them. She said she doesn't believe that Obama can bring change with an administration containing people linked to Clinton's administration. "The men and women he's chosen these past few weeks ought to be a warning to all the Obama supporters out there. He either can't or has no intentions of [fulfilling] the many promises he's made to the American people," Crews wrote on iReport.com. The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey was conducted by telephone with 1,096 adult Americans questioned. The survey's sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points. |

More people go hungry every day - look at any UN reports. The wanton waste of the US is not denounced and a huge Hitleresque ceremony organised. Humility is a virture he sure does not posess. The millions of airline miles for people to be present at the ceremony are surely wanton waste and the US should be ashamed at the present time. Given US abundant resources could he not have asked for everyone to donate so everyone reachable in the World does not go hungry just for one day? S. Edited on 1/19/2009 8:11 PM by abc200. |

Obama hates the world. why? becuase he did not change tradition and call of the inauguration, and give the money to Burkina Fasso? you may not like the USA, or, rather, you hate it. but, Americans are entitled to enjoy this moment in history. if you are offended, turn off the TV. we are really sick of your reflexive rant against America. it is getting old, and you are tiresome and silly. if Americans want to get obese eating at Wendy's , leave them alone. go direct your ire to the Queen. |
