If it's true that Cuba has 20 billion barrels of oil. It will not be easy for the United States to get its hands on the oil. because Vladimir Putin has re-established strong relations with Cuba . Plus There is Cuba's debt to the ex-Soviet Union, inherited by Russia, has been previously estimated in Moscow at around $20 billion. Let's also not forget China's involvement. Obama has some very difficult challenges ahead. Edited on 1/6/2009 1:41 PM by yumnuk3. |

That is just a drop in the bucket of the hypocrisies of the U.S. But these idiots are so plain stupid that they dont want to accept reality. They would gladly sell their souls in exchange for Cuban Statehood to the union. Not realizing that the U.S. interest in Cuba is for exploitation of it resources and people. All the while turning a blind eye to blatan U.S. hipocracy *Trade with China *Trade with Vietnam Failing to indict Orlando Bosch for terrorism for the death of approx 73 passengers Hijacking the "Freedom of Information act". and others. So I really think he will hit the ground running. If you just look at his campaign strategy. He studied the past, learned from the mistakes and employed all the available resources and tools to his advantage. Edited on 11/6/2008 11:15 PM by ladronaso. Why wont Dminincan Republic prosper? Gloria Estefan probably lived large when daddy was a bodyguard to Batista. now she is in miami, extolling the virtues of "democracy". give me a break! |

Hell, one of Batista's grandsons sits on Florida's Supreme Court. The sons of Batista's people certainly have done well for themselves in exile. They have practically carved a minny feifdom in what was once a fringe state. There former ultimate masters never forgot their bonds of freindship and created the conditions for them to thrive within their bossom. Nevertheless, one must admire the sagacious nature of Batista's former people in exile. They have integrated themselves well into the American political system and have a virtual monopoly on the cuban american voice as aired in the main stream media. Props.
