Why hasn't Dominican Today posted an article showing the Aguilas win as the top news story??? I bet it if would have been Licey that would have won, it would have been on the top of the home page. Se utiliza sobre todo para los juegos de béisbol teniendo de anfitriones a las Águilas Cibaeñas, equipo peteneciente a la Liga Dominicana de Béisbol. El estadio se inauguró el 25 de octubre de 1958 y fue construido por el ingeniero Bienvenido Martínez Brea.  El estadio tiene capacidad para 18,077 espectadores, que lo hace el más grande de la República Dominicana. Sus dimensiones de campo son 335 pies en los postes de foul, 365 pies en los jardínes laterales y 385 pies en el jardín central. Se le conoce como "El valle de la muerte", debido a la impresionante efectividad del equipo Águilas Cibaeñas en el terreno de juego. En 2008, el estadio fue sede por primera vez de la Serie del Caribe. Sin embargo, fue la segunda vez que la serie se celebró en la República Dominicana, ya que la primera fue celebrada en 1976 en el Estadio Quisqueya.
