How To Post Pictures In The Internet You can signup for a free photosharing site like http://www.flickr.com/ and upload the photos to their servers. You'll then have a public link that you can send to friends to so they can see your photos too. If you don't want other people to see them, both these sites have options to hide your photos so only friends can see them. If you have a Photoshop with editing program use this link How To Take A Picture Of Your Desktop/Post Pictures http://www.discussanything.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70129 BTW I personally recommend flickr.com you will not have to buy software. |

And I remember and at the same time wondered why some curanderas will say “se me encalo un Indio” meaning that the trance was with an “Indio spirit”. They will have specific names for them which I do not remember since I did not believe in pagan ways. Though their botanical remedies I respect and believe were proper. Could it be that these Indios Spirits names were actually real names that were passed thru generations but lost perspective of their real origin? Hola poponlaburra, Yes in the DR curanderos specifically invoke or are "contacted" by Indian spirits. Our folklore contains much reference to the Indio or Indian religiosity which sometimes is confused with African religions or Voodoo. For example in the DR specifically in San Juan de La Maguana you can hear people say "me hecharon la Guangua" or "te escupo la guangua", meaning that someone has put a curse or witchcraft on you or vice versa. In one Taino creation story a being names Bayomanaco, became angry at another being named Deminan Caracaracol and spit from his nose a substance called Guanguayo. This Guanguayo became a tumor on Deminans back and grew to a huge size. Later his brothers cut out the tumor only to find a hicotea (turtle) which was a spirit being. Its no stretch of the imagination that Guangua and Guanguayo are the same. Yet in our country some people attribute this word and action to an African origin, even though this practice or word are not found anywhere in the sub-saharan region where our African ancestors came from! Our ancestors were deeply into ancestor worship. It stands to reason that perhaps after the Spanish christianized us, that perhaps this practice continues to a degree which is only now being looked at. Thank you Baracutei |

Obama is as White as he is Black "racially" but at the same time he identify himself more with his Black side Then a person can also identify themselves base upon the social conditioning of the society that they live in, or how they were brought up While at the same time a person might consciously and deliberately chose to identify themselves to whatever they chose regardless of how they were brought up and or socialized in my view if a person his descended from both Taino and Black, African or what ever the later maybe called or group with then they should value and identify with both This not to you specifically because I don't know you or read your other posts |
