Agreed. The eastern region, in particular San Pedro, is probably the 'blackest' area in DR.

Is Cibao the largest region of the Dominican Republic? And would you say the "typical" Dominican would be a Cibaeño?

I think it is geographically. I wouldn't call the cibaeño the "typical" Dominican, though. There are millions of sureños that would disagree..

Here is a picture of someone from the Eastern cibao who shows some Taino Traits in his phenotype, he looks maybe straight Grifo/Zambo, his looks are also common in the Cibao region, from experienec and obviously because he was chosen as the representative of the book titled "Los Campesinos Del Cibao"

That's definitely a zambo.

Actually, that looks like a 1/4 Indian 3/4 Negro

Yeah but the hair texture looks like the typical Zambo/mulatto/blasian hair texture....
I don't think you can grow hair like that If you're more than 60% black.

Cibao is the most populated and they range in looks. Not to be evasive, but in such a mixed country, you would have to post a couple of inidividuals to represent the 'typical' Dominican look. I don't think just one person would capture this look.
What would be a typical look for Brazil? Ronaldo or Kaka? Bundchen or Lima?

Good point, the best you can do is specific towns, cities and barrios. D.R is to diverse for an average look. But yes the Cibao is the largest region, it basically compromises of EVERYTHING north of the middle line horizontally. From Montecristi to samana and down to the middle, but it excludes the east. Although some easteners have Cibaenyo influences, specially in Higuey and Hato Mayor, i know because the i can sometimes be found there. The South is the 2nd largest region, followed by the East, followed by the Capital.

Actually, Zambo/Blasian hair comes out like the Rock because Asiatic hair is too straight and could often "override" or really "impact" Negroid hair. Most mulattos seem to have "mulatto" hair because helixed hair+wavy(most whites have it) usually=really curly, and there are 50/50 mulatto people that come out with wavy hair because the white ancestor had very straight hair. The kid's face structure looks almost Negroid.

Really? I've never really met too many people from that region but I've never heard that the i was a component of their speach. Is it possible that the one's you ran into were migrants from the cibao or do you think that the i is autochtonous to the region as well?
