If the new French president is a socialist then there is fresh hope for the planet. The present generation of capitalist leaders, Bush, Obama, Sarkozy et al have created misery for countless millions, hunger too, in many parts of the world. Obama is cutting US aid to poor nations from already low levels. Fair prices are needed for food and it is encouraging that the president of the DR is contributing strongly on this issue. S. Bush most defininitely or maybe even Sarkozy, but Obama has no bourgeois roots. He came from relatively modest beginings and rose himself up through the ranks, thanks to his work ethics, but above all talent, abilities, intelligence and affirmative action. He was never born with a silver spoon in his mouth like perhaps the other two. What he is no doubt is a puppet president, an instrument used by an all mighty and powerful capitalist interest groups. Quote: IT'S OFFICIAL: Sarkozy Comes In Second To Hollande, Far Right Winger Le Pen Gets Massive 20% Of French Vote Joe Weisenthal | Apr. 22, 2012, 2:08 PM | 5,755 | 45 Right-winger Marine Le Pen gets 3rd Official French election numbers are coming out and the gist is this... Socialist challenger Francois Hollande has won the first round, edging out incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy by about 29% to 27%. That means Hollande and Sarkozy will face off in a second round election in two weeks Marine Le-Pen, the far right wing, anti-immigrant, anti-Euro candidate is taking home a stunning 20% of the vote. This is more than her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen received in the 2002 election, when he surpassed Lionel Jospin to make it into the runoff (where he got clobbered by Jacque Chirac). She's out of the race, but her bloc of votes does represent a huge opportunity for Sarkozy if he can win convince her base of anti-immigrant, anti-Euro voters to come over to him... that's not a sure thing by any stretch. It will also be difficult for Sarkozy to get her voters without alienating his core supporters. As for the implications for broader Europe. Germany would obviously like to see Sarkozy win. He's on board with the mainstream idea that austerity is the answer to Europe's woes. Hollande on the other hand favors a renegotiating of the fiscal compact (that was a greed to last year), and he's in favor of higher taxes on the rich. So Europe will be holding its breath until May 6. Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/french-election-results-2012-4#ixzz1spaiOD63 Proof of dreadlocks Bigotry. Yes, characters like Thatcher and Obama are probably worse than Sarkozy and Bush.. Yes, I accept that Obama has never been a memer of ,Skull and Bones, the secret society, but he has sure piled misery on plenty of people. S. |
