RE: Santo Domingo Subway.
Everytime I see these pictures of the Santo Domingo Metro, I always feel an internal excitement! It's just part of progress, it's the step that the Dominican Republic is taking in order to eliminate transportation problems in the Dominican capital and also part of economic success!

RE: Santo Domingo Subway.
Thanx for the link antonio...what I find ironic about the name of the stations is that stations named after Amin Abel Hasbun and Camaano directly follow a station named after the man directly responsible for both their deaths, Joaquin Balaguer! Unbelievable.

RE: Santo Domingo Subway.
On another note concerning individuals that stations were named after...Gregorio Urbano Gilbert Suero...until just very recently I knew nothing of this Dominican that fought along side that great Latin American patriot, Agosto Cesar Sandino. As a young man he actually went to where the Americans were disemabrking during the initial stages of their 1916 invasion and let off a shot at the first American he saw set foot on dry land! Ballsy indeed.

it sure looks impressive. i hope for the sake of the people, who had to forego more essential services, that it works to higher than expected levels of success. because, it has been a heck of a sacrifice made by the people of Bonao, and Montecristi, and Arroyo Hondo, who get no benefit from it, and had to give up their share of the budget.

Dread this is the first semi positive thing I have heard you say about this project....Let us hope josean drowns in humiliation for having been such a naysayer and the taxi sindicatos begin to see the error of their ways
