This is a diagram of a future Santo Domingo Subway station location, along with the also future location of Agora Mall. I have also posted this picture in the "Boom of Santo Domingo" thread since Agora Mall is part of the "boom capitaleño". Enjoy! ![]() |

You know I'm very happy that we now have a metro soon to be expanded. my only problem is that in some places of our nation much needed projects and highways were promised years ago some were started but never finish others have remained only in paper and only mentioned during elections. I feel bad these places are still waiting for these wonderful promises Edited on 4/1/2010 11:18 PM by deicibao. QUE VIVA Ei CIBAO "yo soy primero cibaeño y despues dominicano" Pedro Manuel Hungria |

I feel bad these places are still waiting for these wonderful promises Bro, I know what you mean, but I am ambivalent about the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, I am all for progress, otherwise we would still be living in caves and writing on stone. But It is all about how and the way it is done. I want grogress, but I also want quality of life and that only can be achieved through proper planning. The Dominican gov't jumps the gun too quick. I mean, great that we have a metro, but how about social services, power shortages and price of electricity, education, health care, illegal migration, unemployment, poverty, lack of housing, corruption in government, crime, safety and security, poor roads, no public parks and recreation, econony and inflation, to sum it up, food, clothing and shelter. My friend the list is endless and it just turns my stomach, that we rave and are busy distracted about the metro but have forgotten about the basics, the essentials for the dominican people and humanity in general. |

I totally agree with you and I think that some of these projects are absurd since problems like "apagones" just to mention one should be dealt with first. My comment was more of a protest to the huge centralization of most of the national wealth in just one city (Santo Domingo) and how our government has pretty much forgotten the rest of the nation.
