I agree with the "illegal spotlight" issue but that seems to be the entire base of arguement for people like Geraldo. What they always fail to hear or listen to is that the vast majority 85% + pay no federal or state taxes whereby the company that pays them pays no FICA, FUDA, SUDA or other obilititory taxes that support local Hospital districts and local infrastructure. Add to the fact they are not paying property taxes, school taxes or any other tax or fee due to keep the same infrastructre running that they use on a regular basis. Yet thier kids are in the school systems, maybe on the subsidized meal program, go to the emergency room for a cold (because the law of the land says they must be treated, for free if they can not pay) and so on. I brought my wife and daughter here from Venezuela and it took me 3 years and about $9000 to accomplish that, but it was all done legally. Like I said in my other post, I welcome anyone who comes here if done legally. But because he is illegal they should throw the book at him and then deport him since he is not a citizen he has no "rights' to defend nor right to be here.

No one in this forum is more pro-deportation than i am, and am with you... now i've heard and in fact i know people who claim to have done it... that they get fake social security numbers and they'll pay taxes but never collect becacuse its fake... That was one benefit brought up in favor of illegal immigration in the news... however, i don't recall the source of that report... In the end, since they contribute taxes and get taken away by receiving medical or school services... it sort off balances out... althought am not pro-illegal immigration.

If you base the story (whatever scenario) the guy broke the law by entering the country illegally. From the start the guy has broken the law. There was a recent story in San Francisco of a car being hit at minimal speed (rush hour traffic) the car that was hit had two guys get out with rifles and killed the father and sons in the other car. They were both illegals and have had prior run ins with the law but San Francisco is also a "santurary city". I am all for anyone who wishes to come to the US do so the legal way, give me a break. I don't agree that his case has been brought to spot light just be cause he's an illegal alien. Geraldo stated that there have been numbers accidents that are not covered by fox new, but just because it's an illegal alien, then it becomes worth reporting.... There's something fishy with that!
