RE: patriots vs nationalists
I'll have to agree with ladronaso on this! Shoot, about the defending our language and culture from foreign values and stuffs it isn't happening, because everywhere u see signs in english instead of spanish and even celebrating christmas and halloween!. there is also embracing of ghetto culture and thus giving a bad influence to our kids and youngsters. Mos to fthe funcionarios are selling the litte beautiful landscapes we have left to foreign investors without giving a crap for the future of DR. I'm telling u guys, at the rate we are going, we will lose our sovereignty. the paisanos give more value to the things from the outside than their own craftmanship, art, and food etc....

Perez I do agree with you in some part But Diversity is a good thing when it comes to improving someone's knowledge learning another language or culture. Also Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is one of the most fundamental parts in the catholic religion. Dominican until recently used to be 100% catholic. Halloween I don’t see that as a problem to our identity but these RATA deportados or the young punk when going back to DR trying to show up to impress the local with this low life ghetto culture in that aspect yes I have to agree with you. Not only that it is so idiotic I mean how in hell can someone wear a timberland or a thick sweater when the temperature outside is 90F. On the investment part I disagree with you. If I tell you that china, Japan, and the EU own a big chunk of the USA. Would you believe it? Take for example Dubai almost got the contract of most major port of entrance in the USA back in 2006. A Middle Eastern country to control the port of entrance of every shipment into the USA? What does that tell you about the need of a country in foreign investment? What I’m trying to tell you is that every country needs foreign investment. try too Google the downfall of past and present states with minimums amount of investment like Haiti or communist like Cuba or China before they became capitalist. Lack of foreign capital had been their biggest failure and the funny thing these states don’t believe in investment unless everything bend to their favor to the elite or the govt.

LOL!! yea u are right guess i got schooled. I remember reading the daily news about giving the middleeast the power over our ports and i thought that was outrageous! good thing everybody was in an uproar! and th deal didnt went through. I also remeber when i went to DR in 2008 i saw a women wearing a jean jacket inside the colmado and i was thinking like wtf? And yea, i think i made mistake about christmas. I was refering about the "Gift giving" part. Because as far as i know the kids get presents en el dia de los reyes magos. Jan 6.
