Quote: DaniDr previously said: I believe this is a standard practice for all the credit/debit card processors, and even for banking accounts. It's a normal practice even outside the USA. For example, if you rent a car, they will put a hold on your credit card for as much as twice the value of your rental, it's a kind of 'insurance' for the car rental. By the way, a hold on a certain amount in your card is not really a withdrawal, it's just money that's been locked out. For my experience, I try not to use the debit card, specially since if someone clones it they'll steal YOUR REAL money. Yeah im sure its a standard issue, but at least US banks will authorize to pay the transaction right away. You know how frustrating it is , to try to make an online payment with a BHD Visa Checkcard, telling you you do not have sufficient funds, when in reality you do. Does anyone know of reliable bank in DR?? ![]() |

Always when i went to complain to Customer Service, they mentioned it is because suspicion of Fraud.. Fraud my ass ! Amazon, Paypal, Skype etc.. are the most save Online Distributor on Earth. I never had any problem with any other Credit Card with this companies. Just imagine, they do this with a few hundred customers a week, keeping their money for up to 10 days, makes damn good interest and additional income for the Bank and/or Visa. Avoid Visa Debit Cards and avoid Banco BHD. |

The Payment was rejected by VISA but the money was withdrawn from my account. After complaining to BHD, i was informed that their might be suspicion of Fraud. Yeah right, amazon is in the fraud business know !? Know i have to wait (according to BHD) about 5 business days to get my money back. I talked to several friends of mine that are using a BHD Visa Card and al of them confirmed that this is common practice at this Bank. |
