If the macro geopolitics dictate that other powerful nations would be our enemies, their analysis of the situation does not change according to who sits in an office somewhere. The underlying material and economic power are still there. In any case the 'threat' Bush may or may not have protected us from had nothing to do with the powers you listed, or with geopolitics, at all. They had much more than vision. I strongly believe that Obama is not the man. He is far from the past only in his speeches. Now we only have to wait.
