RE: Bye bye George W., SEE YA!!!
Glimmertwin, I strongly believe that for a day like September 11, 2001, George W. Bush was the right man and I do not know what we are going to see if something similar happens with Mr. Obama as commander-in-chief. He does not look like somebody that can deal with something like that.
Do you remember Chamberlain, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1937 to 1940? “His attempts to deal with Nazi Germany through diplomatic channels and to quell any sign of dissent from within, particularly from Churchill, were called by Chamberlain ‘The general policy of appeasement’ (30 June 1934). A major structural problem that Chamberlain confronted at the beginning of his Prime Ministership, and to be a major factor in his foreign policy was the problem of worldwide defense commitments coupled with an insufficient economic-financial basis to sustain those commitments.”
Arthur Neville Chamberlain (18 March 1869 – 9 November 1940)… As with many in Europe who had witnessed the horrors of the First World War and its aftermath… was committed to peace. He “is best known for appeasement foreign policy, in particular regarding his signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938, conceding the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia to Germany, and for his "containment" policy of Germany in 1939 that culminated in declaring war on Germany on 3 September 1939… Chamberlain was forced to resign the premiership on 10 May 1940, after Germany invaded the Netherlands, Belgium and France. He was succeeded by Winston Churchill but remained very well regarded in Parliament.”
Adolf Hitler was too much for him and then you know what happened. You can not stop a war just extending your hand and your best wishes to your enemies.
What is going to happen if your enemies do not want to open their fists (as it was the case with Hitler)? In that case perhaps somebody like Mr. Bush is not the best solution but somebody like Mr. Obama is completely useless.

PeRod:

How could you serioulsy say that Dubya was the best man to be pres on 9/11?

I will tell you what Obama or any other President would have done ..... They would have caught the leader of ALQuaeda while we were in Afghan !!! Not WASTE reesources after Saddam, whom as you say killed many, but need I remind you with USA FRIGGIN AID !!!!

As for the safety measures on the mainland, even Lucifer himself would have done the same.......

Funny how Bill found a way to get to ground zero before dubya!

Funny how it took dubya 72 hours ot go to New Orleans!!!

Bush has put the US in a more vulnerable position than we were previopus to him... look at the big picture!

Whats even more amazing is that wehn dubya ran the country we wanted him to succeed not fail....

but now it seems that some wnat Obama to fail , from the get go!!

I voted for him and and more convicned than when I voted for him , that he is the man !!

ROCK ON OBAMA !

I can seriously say that George W. Bush was the best man for dealing with something like September 11 because that is “my” opinion and we are still in a democracy (liberals usually forgot this when other people think different –they ever absolutely believe to be on the right track–).
You are not “convicned”, you are blinded by the press with a man that is like FDR, like JFK, even like Reagan and have done absolutely nothing yet.
Get some ice and think coolly. Perhaps in that way you can see something beyond the tip of your nose.

PeRod,

The world is not at war, WE started a war. So your point should really be made by the other side.

The aggressors are us. How many atrocities have happened over the last 20 years that we did nothing about?

Why this Iraq thing? Why do we care?

People still believe that the events on 9/11 were orchestrated without inside help?

easy, kmnupe. feed it to them in small doses. we do not want guys getting academic indigestion. so, ask them one question at a time, wait for the answer, correct the term paper, then proceed to the next. unless, of course, you have to give a lecture in the interim.

I find it outrageous when you have so call intelligent people, and inspite of all clear undeniable evidences pointing to the fact that the Irak war was wrong, unprovoked and G W Bush was a mediocre president, still find time to debate the undebatable. Am I missing something ? please folks educate me.

You people should seek deprogramning help needed which must force yourselves to become aware of what has dropped below the scope of your consciousness -- may assist you in breaking free from the Hannity and Roach limbaugh of the world.
We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.

it is real easy, antonio. it is called "intellectual laziness" these guys refuse to do their own research. they have never read a single book or article on the subject. they just regurgitate the sophomoric idiocies of talk show buffoons, who know even less than they do, which is pathetic.

Perhaps something like this is going to happen: “Oh, my dear God. They do not want to open their fists! Excuse me gentlemen, I have to go to the bath. Meanwhile give them anything they wish, anything."

(Perhaps all of us are wrong and “superpower” is a word to big for the Unites States of America. Perhaps that is what is happening. And you know what? The Chinese are on their way. Wait for them and you will see how hard is to be a “superpower”.)
