I could think of a few that were filmed in DR even if the movies themselves weren't about DR per se...Godfather II and Redford's Havana come to mind...in both flicks DR stood in for Cuba, Victor Vargas-goof flick. I went to see it in a Park Slope theatre. I think that my lady freind and myself were the only latins there (the crowd consisted of mostly white hipsters and yuppies) but I could honestly say that the crowd enjoyed the movie. There's something endearing about the movie that was picked up by others. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill |
