Don't be fooled by her smile !
Dear nj4life,

have you ever seen where and how she lives ???
I did and believe me, that amount of money can't be made by a honest journalist in this country.

Franklin, what does her lifestyle have to do with anything? She's not from a "humble" background; It has always been my understanding that she comes from a family that is very well off and I believe her husband has lots of $$$, too. So....

Anyway, NY4life, I agree with your statement about her and I think she is a great journalist. I used to watch her show when it aired on one of the DR channels I have on cable.

Come on Man, don't judge a person by what he or she has. This is the mistake most people make and in the end get burned.

I knew about a so called "businessman" that in order to entice people to make deals, he would actually go out of his way to lease out a furnished mansion, a private Jet or a yacht and wear expensive jewelry. In this manner, he misrepresented his economic status and made others think the possessions he displayed were his own. He created the perfect scenario that enabled and facilitated his business dealings. He would invite, dine and wine prospective business partners, and most thought he was a successful millionaire, but instead it was all fantasy; he was really penniless. The end result, people dropped their guard and he was able to cheat dozens of very intelligent people out of a lot of money.

Anyway, the point I am trying to make is not whether Nuria is a crook or not, but rather not to let what people have confuse you. Just because a person drives a brand new Mercedes or BMW does not necessarily mean anything. In other words, don't let possessions fool you about a person's status or integrity, either for the good or the bad regardless. You should "judge" people, only if their words match their actions. If a person consistently says one thing, but does another, he should never be trusted and that is how I evaluate someone.

Nuria has consistently, time and time again clearly proven by her actions to be a person of trust, dignity and principles. She is one of the few "crusaders" in the Dominican Republic that has not sold herself out. Her journalistic work is unprecedented and to me is a true hero for the Dominican people.

There are some rumors among many that she is in the Pockets of the government and that she is a front. Several people I have spoken to on both sides have speculated doubts . This needs to be researched further. I always reserve doubts about any Dominican possessing great influence and power.

Nuria is Brave
Nuria is one of the very few investigative journalists in this country (Marino Zapete is another one.).
Although her reports may not install real democracy they at least tell us how far we are away from it....
It may be that she avoids to attack certain people but that does not downgrade her work.
Had it not been Nuria others would have been killed for the same reports...

I doubt she's a front, she's probably just careful with whom she attacks. She is a very good reporter, but I've heard she's kind of snotty personally. They were trying to bring her to Telemundo or Univision once but it never panned out, wonder what happened

I couldn't have said it any better JEMS. The lady definitely seems to be legitimately fighting as a true journalist to uncover the rampid corruption in the DR. It's not an easy tasks to go against powerful politicans or insitutions who are known to kill journalist for unveiling such information. I applaud her as a woman, as Dominican, as a true Patriot, and defender of the Dominican people. We need more people with her strength, courage, and conviction to fight for the Dominican people. She is truly a Dominican hero. I hope she continues with her mission to fight corruption and bring the truth to the people.

JEMS, your right about her show. I think it was on Supercanal but I guess they took her off the air so the disapora couldn't see what was really going on in the DR. Hmmm, yo te digo a ti.

Nuria is only playing the "Queen of Integrity"
About 2 years ago, she made a very negative Report about a new company for Paternity Testing
in our Country. Since the opening of this Company prices finally dropped to an acceptable Level.
She (Nuria) did everything to discredit this Business, what btw. is a local Representative of the leading and most accredited US Firm for DNA Testing. At the end of her Report she showed an interview
with a local "DNA Expert" to smear this new company even more. She didn't mention following;
This local "DNA Expert" is a personal Friend of her Family and... i almost forgot....is the owner
of the Lab who used to have the monopoly in the Country for DNA Paternity testing.
If you call this a good Journalist, well so be it !
I study Journalism and our class analyzed this case for a whole week as an example for bad
Journalism.
