Thanks William,

What about not showing up at all and slipping someone at the DMV a few bucs and a photo
to get a license.

Can this be done?

I need to find someone to facilitate this.

Individuals like yourself are part of the problem. Wouldn't surprise me if you are Republican.

Whats that Republican creed again?.....................

Do as I say, not as I do.

So, you don't like what's happening in DR....

No, you need not.
Unless you want to pay, pay and pay....

Good for you.
And even better for your car insurance.
In case of an accident claim they will not have to pay.
(Why should they tell you this now?)

Reason: Your DL expired to be valid in this country long ago...

RE: Dominican Drivers License
The only way for a US Citizen to get a legal DR license is to get a DR cedula

There is a long thread on this over at DR1.com which has been check with motor vehicles and the Embassy.

Otherwise you need to leave the country every three months and return

Not true for others whose Embassies certify their licenses.

ladronaso, these are the same guys who sit around on bar stools and exchange stories depicting corruption in the DR. yes, the ones who opine vigorously that Dominicans have no scruples nor morals. but, given the opportunity to profit from the skullduggery, they are the first to indulge. then, they will rationalise things by uttering some inanity such as "well, everybody does it here", or "if i do not, someone else will". small wonder he seems to have struck up a level of camaraderie with the lowest creature in the forum, the Yukon Slime.

RE: Dominican Drivers License
A DR license is only good for 6 months. Is that really the case? That is ridiculous.

It's valid for four years and renewal is about 800 RD$.

RE: Dominican Drivers License
I always drive with an Illinois liscence. When this guy crashed my SUV, I did the police report with my IL liscence and had no problems. Also, when you are pulled over the cops hardly ever ask you for a license, usually they ask for the vehicle papers to see if its a stolen car
