En el amor verdadero, la distancia más pequeña es demasiado grande, y sobre la distancia más larga se pueden construir puentes (Hans Nouwens). |

Then you will need to register it again usually at the consulate in DR. Once that's done getting married is usually simple. If you both hold Dominican Cedulas, it is best not to mention that you are foreigners as this will complicate things. If one or both hold foreign nationalities and no cedulas then the above mentioned will apply. And so, my fellow "Dominicans", ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. |

I don't know whether proof of no marriage is required to be authenticated, signed and blessed by Dominican Consulate in France, as this is normally required for U.S. citizens. Once your documents are in place it doesn't take long at all. Just contacting a justice of the piece and paying the fees. perhaps 2-3 days max. Remember money talks. And so, my fellow "Dominicans", ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. |
